Look at the players that are making it to the finals… Would you have it any other way? These CLEARLY are by far the best players in the world by miles. No players are even close to TY and Maru in terms of sheer, unadulterated skill. Stats is just playing horribly, playing op race and still losing. He doesn’t deserve to be in the finals… He’s a mid tier protoss at best by the way he is playing…

Another whine Protoss thread!

Might as well rename Legacy of the Void to Legacy of the TCF

Both lost to Serral and Reynor pretty convincingly… Korea is lucky Serral and Reynor don’t play in GSL.

keep enjoying your free wins while we’re stuck with trash units like the cycloin, the tank, the reapear, BC, etc.

All of those units got me to high ranks in 1v1 and team games so, nice meme

they would get absolutely destroyed in GSL.

koreans underperform in foreign tourneys but in GSL its their house

The tournament types are really different. Most foregin tournaments are weekend tournaments, where as for the GSL you get weeks to prepare for each map series. It’s a very different kind of game, and you often see different players excel in each type.

Both Serral and Reynor would get destroyed in GSL, for them is better to meet online in EU Torunaments, so they have better ping.

I think Serral would have a better chance against Koreans. I think Reynor is maybe even slightly better in terms of mechanical skill and is the fastest player or one of the fastest players out there.

But thing is I think Reynor would have a hard time against Rogue, Trap and TY. Especially Rogue and TY. These 2 they know how to prepare matches and traditionally Reynor does have a harder time against the tier 1 Koreans of each race. Serral looks harder to prepare against. Not to mention i think Reynor is prone to get a little bit cocky sometimes and Rotti has touched upon this and he could lose quite badly against koreans. One example being Trap vs him at dreamhack summer finals.

Everyone thought Trap would get 3-0ed and Reynor probably was not thinking about Trap being a worthy opponent and already was excited about a Serral rematch. But he forgot that adepts 2 shot drones. He cut corners played really reallly bad and lost 3-1. But ever since that he’s got a little more humble and that’s why he didn’t lost the 2nd time he met vs Trap.

Do you seriously believe they win because of better ping? if they would underperform in GSL it would be because neither… especially Serral is not playing on the level he did past 2 years. Otherwise it wouldnt matter if it is GSL or not, they already showed, well Serral did, with GSL vs world and super tourney.

I still dont get the GSL code S fanboying… how is playing bo3 and playoffs any different on any other GSL format?

Yes I do, ping is very important in SC2, fights can be less than 2 sec in SC2, and when you have a lag in that moment it’s gg.

No because:

-They are good players, so good they would advance at least to playoffs unless they were on some kind of group of death, so at least one of them would surely advance.
-Zerg is a race that requires less preparation and more about game mechanics, and Reynor and Serral are solid players, that do not rely on cheesy gameplay, it’s harder to play against solid players than onetrickers.
-Even if they are foreigners, GSL is filled with players worse than them, they would only have problems against 2-3 players.

If they were given some time to practice the kr meta and stuff, I think Reynor and Serral would have decent chances to end high in gsl and even winning, specially Reynor.

So you refuse to think Serral won with skill and because he outplayed his opponents?

Yeah, I mean he unstoppable when Zerg was op, now when tvz is some what balanced again, he can loose even to Clem. Serral is a bit overrated.

Serral was winning vs Terrans even after the Nov 2019 nerfs. Only a fool can say that, he is playing weaker now but that’s since the summer.

His winings are pathetic for 2020 compared to the previous 2 years. Serral still refuses to use lurkers, he doesn’t like to micro he just wants to A move.

I don’t think Serral is playing worse. I think his competition got stronger. If Serral was 100 the year before. Reynor was around 85 last year now Reynor is like 105 while Serral is still at 100.

Another reason is that Terran got much stronger this year. Which is good since T underperformed really bad last year. Now the race that underperforms is Protoss especially in ZvP. And ZvP is why Z wins so many titles since its quite Z favored at the top. If P was stronger vs Z. The amount of Z victories will go down drastically.

I mean Serral is not a patch Zerg. Whether you like him or not. He still has a very good winrate against Korean Terrans. Even Reynor loses more often against T’s from Korea.

Let alone his winrate vs Korean T his higher than other Korean Z’s vs Korean T’s. He has been on top of he EU ladder sitting at 7300+ MMR since mid 2017. While Z was Uber OP last year Serral doesn’t suffer a drop in performance. Unlike Dark, like jeez what happened to him. Solar as well dropped quite a bit.

The Z’s that didn’t lose performance is Rogue, Reynor and Serral. And these Zergs are really2 good.
