Yo, if your playing teams, dont ping every last thing every sec you get a chance to do it. We do not need it, its absolutely one of the most annoying things you can do. If you guys have time to ping you have time to build troops and macro, learn to prioritize whats important in the game.
Just had a game where two guys with over a 150 apm both got there behinds wiped cause they priotized pinging everything instead of actually building troops and using there army properly. it was a 17 min game of me playing 1v3 and my measly 100+ apm did 100 times better than both them combined.
There is no need to ping that much in a game, EVER. It got to the point where i was about to throw the game and tk, thats how annoying it became.
Also, I want to point out that if you see something comeing in and you ping it, please for the love of god open the chat thing and say what it is you saw. it only takes a sec. you see a dt type dt, you see a banshee, type bans, something to give a heads up. Just cause you ping it doesnt mean your other tm had a chance to see what it was, call it out so we know.
I have had so many games of guys pulling this and then when you ask what they dont respond till after you get hit and there like “i pinged it you should of been preped”. well gee golly pinging an area to look isnt the same as saying hey there a bans coming. have some common sense to call it out if you see it. type something, we can all see team chat, but we cant all be looking at an area you pinged.

More pings = Higher priority ping
If I ping one time it means something is happening like one poor SCV is going to die. When I ping 40 times that usually means: “CLOSE THE WALL QUICKLY! 200 SPEEDLINGS ARE GOING IN”
thats not the pinging im talking about, thats pinging something that needs pinged. Theres guys that will spam ping the entire game and ping everything. Like soon as the game starts they start pinging there base about 20 times. We have all ran into these people.
Oh well, but you can’t do anything about it. It might happen in any game. In MOBA games your team can simply just leave the game, in FPS games your team can simply just leave the game, in RTS they can either ping or leave the game and leave you alone. Pinging is less punishing.
I have been one of those people.
But I apologized as soon as I found and got unstuck the *bleep*ing keyboard key that caused that.
Never experienced somebody else trying to apologize or explain insane pinging though.

IME this is usually an accident. If you alt-tab during the loading screen, sometimes it gets stuck in ping mode. Most likely theyre trying to select their workers.

I actually had such issues few times too. It happens when I alt+tab back into the game for some reason.
no its no accident, theres guys out there that will ping like pinging is going out of style. This isnt keyboard getting stuck and things like that. This is guys who spam ping everything, not just there base at the beginning, the ping the little monsters on the map, the ping there tm base, they will ping what they are going to do, what there gonna eat, wear, you name it.
