I personally think swarmhosts should be changed or nerfed in the next patch. Their ability to spawn “free units” is too good. When unscouted they can become a real danger. Here are 3 changes i would love to see:
- more supply
- each locus cost some minerals
- energy based
Personally think option 3 would be best but at this moment, they seem a little unbalanced to me.
Energy based locust spawning would be a lot worse than what we have right now since it would allow zerg to bank up the energy and create an army instead of the temporary locusts, basically we’d be in the same situation as with infested terrans, free units trading against actual units is just awful design. Swarm hosts are irredeemably terrible right now, their locusts are very short lived and fragile and they’re practically dead weight in a real engagement. They’re a good option for harassment and for grinding down some very passive players, but in general play they are extremely weak, and I think it should stay this way. SH is one of those units like Disruptors which just never should’ve been added to the game.

Swarmhost is only thing we can brake Terran defensive without sacrificing whole army in process.
Plus’s swarm host can be strong but they are very vunalble at same time.
I would say there kinda weak in sense of being defenseless.
So even given argument some light you must argue who are strong against.
What’s destroyed locust is hellbats or good timing of stim marines.
