We ladder players are nobodies,thats the truth.You can care about ladder and it won’t matter because the game is designed and balanced around tournament play. Same as twitch chat viewers,the can care sbout the game but their opinions are not considered.
The goal in starcraft was “easy to learn,difficult to master”,meaning that you must work hard to overcome stuff,if top players are doing X thing,the rest must follow.
Put more politely, 99% of the issues that a ladder player faces can and will be overcome with an application of skill. There is no such thing as balancing for the ladder except in extreme cases that would also be reflected and amplified at the pro level, because of how much human error is involved.
