Stay awhile and share your journey of leveling... again!

  1. An LVL 7 Abathur player from a certain country thought that I, as a Lvl 3 MoD Mengsk can push like him. (He asked me why am I doing nothing when he’s killing the first thrasher and I reply "I’m not Abby I need to macro, then he responded with “I’m also level 5” like he is so awesome and whatnot.)

Honestly not until the witness talent. You need biomass, I need Mandate for Christ’s sake.

What’s your tale?

I’ve actually been surprised at the lack of flak I’ve gotten. But then again most people are also pushing prestige and don’t care that I’m low level in brutal diff.

Weirdest thing I saw was playing with a P1 Kerrigan who made no queens and no attempt to spread creep. In what I thought was a polite way I tried to direct them to do so, but… No beans, and no creep.

Leveling Karax has surprisingly been a total breeze. Once you hit level 4 you can rapid fire Reclamation on all the enemies and clear maps really fast. And then it becomes even quicker with the Templar Apparent prestige which lets you max out 200/200 by the 15 minute mark.

If it’s Zerg enemies, either it takes a few minutes longer or you can just reroll.

Just been leveling up speedrunner style, so pretty routine.

Log on, msg any number of friends who are playing. Usually wait a few minute for them to finish the game. Pwn games and profit. Pretty routine as well.

Occasional random queue when literally nobody is on, then work as a team. So far nobody has been mean about it or anything. If you work together, most people are quite sensible.

I had an Abathur ally who was going essence horder while being level 5 or so on Mist Opportunities. He made just roaches. He had a second base up and running…Without any workers. He had a hive in his main and then build another hive. As in, he took a secondary hatchery, upgraded it to lair, and then to hive. He made zero queens. On the third wave, his failed to keep the bot alive near his expansion and lost his “army” of roaches. He finally quit after the fourth wave. Wood level league if anything.

Leveled all three prestige levels of Karax first. Fun times… then I was debating to do an easy mode commander like Zeratul or Jimmy… decided to go for Raynor. He is now lvl 10 and all going okay so far. Tomorrow some real teamplay… (and not my lazy laptop ally ) because all these VT solo runs get a bit boring now :stuck_out_tongue:

Plastic league!

Yeah, I can’t stand the same map just to grind. I just do the random map. Otherwise, I’d hate the grind more too lol.

Been leveling up Tychus for the most part, it’s Tychus so there hasn’t been any issues.

There was one lvl 800 that wasn’t Prestiging that was rather rude and left in a game (finished it without him so eh), otherwise I’ve had some real fun with low level randoms who’ve all been quite laid back about it all.

I’ve been leveling up Tychus’ first prestige. Sirius is amazing with the cooldown buff. I can’t wait until I get access to his ultimate.

So far, so good!

I just went through Scythe of Amon as Lone Wolf Level 1 Tychus with a Scourge Queen Level 1 Zagara.

We barely made it with less than a minute on the clock by suiciding crooked sam and a horde of scourges at the sliver.

Just had a special Kerrigan ally on Miner Evacuation, who called me a meme at first after my “hi hf”. Uh okay? Anyway, I was a Level 5 Mengsk, he a Lvl 6 kerrigan. I used the Contaminated Strike Prestige.

After a sloppy start in the middle, he went for Blightbringer while a wave was going for a ship. Kerrigan died and I had to spend quite a lot of Mandate to prevent the 2nd ship in the south from getting destroyed before taking off. Since he continued to die to Blightbringer, and didn’t contribute anything to our expansion’s defense, it almost was overrun, and I lost multiple valuable Earthsplitters.

Third ship, he went for the Eradicators. Failed to get Blightbringer, by the way, while letting me handle the ships all alone. He died to the Eradicators. Then it was time for me to leave. At that point, all he had was a few puny Hydralisks and like two Spine Crawlers at the expansion.

The only “main objective” participation of this player was taking the middle for the expansion. That’s it. And you need to be smart enough to know whether you can take Blightbringer/Eradicators or not. Especially while you have the glorious idea of doing that while a ship is launching.

To be fair, Contaminated Strike on Miner Evac is kind of rough, since they keep spawning in waves over and over again. As soon as a wave of Aberrations is feared, there’s the next one, and next one. It still costs 20 Mandate, so it’s not that easy to spam within like the first 10-15 minutes.

Oblivion Express without even having Contaminated Strike was easier. But that certainly also was because of a good Zagara ally, and the comp being ground only.

Other stories but shorter. 1)Played Malwarfare once again, had to buy all the bonus myself six times once again. Ugh. 2) Then Void Thrashing as Artanis with a Zagara ally, who didn’t build any Banelings or Scourges. Like, aren’t those Zagara’s signature units? Especially when you’re blessed with Guardian Shell? It was pretty rough. Didn’t have Solar Bombardment yet. But we got everything including the bonus.

EDIT: Forgot that Contaminated Strike doesn’t fear yet at level 5.

I have always liked when I get low level people in my games. It makes them more of a challenge. Even the level 15s in brutal plus.

I despise Dead of Night, and I hate when people are like “I’m defending,” as if I’m not also defending… turning a 17 minute match into 25 because I’m soloing the damn thing, but that’s just me (: I’m not trying to play tower defense.

When someone calls me noob for using a level 3 Dehaka (Prestige 1) on Dead of Night

Has he not seen the might of Primal Igniters? Which can heal and and get damage reflect buffs?

He left instantly btw, but it was annoying

Honestly, that’s the first map I picked after prestiging Mengsk. It made sense to me as a level 1. Stronger bunkers are available from level 1, Aegis Guards and Shock Division tanks are available faster cause of three geysir from the start. And you can unsiege them to move around during the day.

Contrary to your ally, I moved around during the day with Aegis Guards and a few tanks and had some vikings with me vs air. Troopers made no sense since they were bopped immediately. I held three entrances, while my ally built some stuff himself at the top left entrance.

I understand what you mean though, there are really “I just def” players, not doing anything with the buildings.

After that DoN map, I had ESOs, so I switched to Oblivion Express. It’s my favorite Mengsk map anyway.

To be fair though, when I’m on Dead of Night playing as Alarak, for example, I really like it when I can just stay outside and have a competent ally defending. But yes, I also appreciate it if he helps with some buildings on other parts of the map. Be it with a small army, or calldowns, or both. Last time, all he needed were like two pumped up Wrathwalkers (+ Havoc for even more range) at home to deal with Spotters.

With a halfway decent defender, or one who is not ready to defend everything yet, I extend my time out in the night with Death Fleet and teleport back shortly before it runs out, then reinforce the weak spot. I’m still working towards permanent Fleet prestige. Once my ally has his defense up and running, I can just stay out permanently and use the Fleet for night pushes. I really like it.

I had ally who used dehaka to destroy rocks and used his breath to destroy air units.

Primal Igniters works very well (Cheap, tanky and Splash damage).
Tyrannozors are the ones that have super fast healing and reflective damage (Igniters do have regen but no reflective damage).

Fun fact, Wolf Sam can kill the bonus on Void Thrashing so effectively that he doesn’t trigger the objective for it. Later in the mission it’ll trigger with her saying we should destroy it, the game will mark it as complete and she won’t say anything else about it.

Edit: new fun OP fact! Wolf Blaze can, with upgrades, have his fire trail through the infested on DoN and burn through their spawning buildings. In my experience this works particularly well for the north west, where the buildings are clustered tight enough together that it clears them all out with one cast.

He’s talking about prestige 1 with all consuming buffs shared with units.
