I’ve played SC2 with no issues for quite some time. But recently I’ve logged in game to see that nothing is loading. Not maps, not versus, not co-op, not even my portrait or achievement points. Tried opening ports in my firewall. Tried swapping cache folder. I’ve even REINSTALLED my whole OS to no result. I tried sitting in Custom-Melee tab, waiting for maps to download, but they dont. Even after 2 hours. In what world does the game not have it’s ladder maps already on my hard drive when i install it.
Actually, the reason i reinstalled my OS is to resolve any dependencies.
I uninstalled OneDrive, deleted it’s folder and rewrote my registry so it percieves default folders instead of creating new ones with OneDrive. The issue still stands.
From what i’ve read in forums, there’s suppose to be a Cache folder in Documents/StarCraft, but i can’t find it. And if i create it, the game does nothing with it. The only thing similar is the C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\SC2Data\ecache directory. Long before all the trials i tried to backup this folder, delete all the, launch the game, so it creates new ones, but it made things even worse. Nothing was loading, but when i put all the back-uped files back, it stayed… worse. I’m really confused about what else i can try.
UPD: after trying to ping eu logon battle net, changing DNS and doing all the shamanism that could help me with that i realised, that I live in Gulag country. So i tried VPN (yes, i know it’s a bad thing, but i just wanna play my favourite games).
And it helped… a little bit. Now i can see maps loading in Custom, i can see my portrait again. But when i try to host a lobby, it just gets stuck at 2% of downloading the map.
UPD2 - Resolved: holy, it worked. I can finally play. So to all the Gulag citizens - here’s the way the helped me.
