Prestiging every commander is the only way lawlz
Prestige is fun and all, but this indeed is the big thing!!!?
Sort of. You can re use some talents during a 1-15 relevel. But once you’ve done it three times (unlocked all three talents), that’s it. No more 1-15 on that particular commander.
Specifically, you can use
- the 1st talent for three 1-15 relevels
- the 2nd talent for two 1-15 relevels
- the 3rd talent for one 1-15 relevel
… and after that, no more relevels for that commander.
Upon getting infestation pit you can have full map teleport with roaches and ravagers similar to brutalisks. That’s pretty amusing, at the very least.
Just to confirm my understanding… To unlock each Prestige for one Commander requires re-levelling from 1 to 15?
If yes, that would mean:
- 18 Commanders
- 3 Prestige
- 15 levels to unlock per Prestige
18 x 3 x 15 = 810 total levels to unlock all the Prestige for all the Commanders???
Wow… That would be something.
Yes, that’s correct but only in the sense of “commander levels”, which is vastly different than ascension levels. Since of 810 of those, 1/15 are levels 1’s, and so on, which the exp required vastly differ between a level 1 vs a level 15.
I hope you will be able to select which prestige you are going for. Only about a third of the prestige options interest me, some of them are definitely more impactful than others, and it would be annoying having to waste time on unlocking something I won’t use.
Good that they are still fiddling with the commanders, though it’s a shame that they aren’t just removing the unit tax for Karax, the one thing that has been asked for the most, but instead messing with almost literally everything else.
Carriers at least are made slightly less sucky, but they should have given the phoenix some love too.
As it stands in the PTR, this isn’t possible. You unlock 1 “level” of prestige, so to speak every reset.
So if you’re aiming for a third tier one, u gonna have to reset 3 times.
Don’t think I’m ever gonna bother doing that. Hopefully they will change it before release, so people don’t waste their time.
Dead By Daylight does Prestige. 1 to 50 and all you earn is a piece of clothing. You need to do this 3 times to get all the clothes. People are happy to do this, 1-15 will be nothing.
Though I’ve never done it as I stopped playing DBD, enjoy it but only in very small doses.
It’s around 230 ascension levels, somebody did the math…
And yeeey change!
Yeah I know, NO2 did the post.
But the other guy was literally talking about commander levels. While the equivalent exp would be that.
Just because it’s far worse in other games, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea here either.
I wonder if you choose a prestige talent will you still have access to your mastery points? I am curious, because several of them conflict with those. For example Zagara’s tier 1 - attack damage or energy regen - has no sense when chosing the prestige where there is no Zagara. I think selecting a prestige logically removes the mastery options.
I don’t like this. People should not get restriction to contents they’ve already earned!
Don’t Prestige then? No one is forcing you to do it if you don’t like it. With the Mastery it’s not as if you permanently lose the Mastery anyway, you just have to get back to 15 and that’s your own choice.
I checked the Kerrigan prestige and I am not impressed.
- Malignant creep effectiveness increased by 100% / Nydus and Omega networks are unavailable
That’s big NO. Unless you are fighting against zerg, or with Stukov partner, many if not most of the fights will be off creep (as you can’t put creep in the middle of enemy forces via Omega worm) so in that case it’s pure debuff, and even in the ideal scenarion this does not seem like a good deal
- Kerrigan expends stacks of Fury while using Leaping Strike or Psionic Shift, striking nearby enemies for 50 damage and stunning them for 3 seconds. / Kerrigan’s Carapace generation reduced by 50%. Kerrigan’s ability damage reduced by 50%. The usefulness depends on whether that stun works on heroic units, I guess.
I don’t know … does not seem to be worth it - it requires stacks of fury, so it will work only after she has been fighting for some time and until then there’s 50% damage reduction on all the abilities, including Immobilization wave.
- Assimilation Aura resource drops increased by 100%. Kerrigan gains Kinetic Blast and Crushing Grip. / Leaping Strike and Psionic Shift are unavailable.
This MIGHT be balanced. I never liked Crushing grip, though. Loss of Leaping strike should mean more range, but also slower speed due to loss of Psionic Shift. If it was just Leaping strike replaced by Kinetic Blast, I would go for it immediately, but like this, I am not sure
As for double Assimilation aura … the rss from AA tend to be at best 10% of the total resources you get from mining so no that big of a deal for me unless it’s DoN and the game lasts so long that you exhaust mineral patches and gas geyser
When you prestiege, you keep your mastery level but can’t use mastery points until you re level the commander.
Right now they have it on the ptr so a game instantly remaxes you, but maybe possibly they could add in say, a 2x exp boost your first prestiege, 3x the next, 4x the last etc to speed things up for the last prestieging levels. Maybe they could add in a optional for fun “set level” for prestiege after you finish, just in case you want to mess around with certain cut off points could be fun.
Han & Horner Prestige Talents off balance
I’m not sure where else to put this, which is strange that Blizzard doesn’t have something built into the PTR to provide feedback. The Talents for H&H are not very balanced to be worth someone’s time to prestige 3 extra times. Below are my issues and recommendations that would make a prestige feel prestigious rather than just extra work.
Mercenary Leader and Dominion Admiral
Though I understand that there is an option to use the base “Talent” if you choose, I don’t think players are being rewarded for their efforts of going through multiple Prestige by NOT having any prestige bonus’. Added buffs such as a 10% increase in Mastery power set effects; possibly a resource start boost of some arbitrary number of (500) resources that benefit fast starts; and a modest boost in unit attack speeds without messing with balance of the character could be a benefit to the player. Each of these boosts could be rewarded for each Prestige they complete which would incentivize people who have no interest in the new Talents.
Chaotic Power Couple
I’m not sure how Mag Mines and death effects while reducing the cost of Han’s units seems like it’d be a winner but it needs more balance if we are spending 30% more on Han units. A reduction in Air Fleet and Space Station Relocation would add to a better balance for this Talent as we sacrifice a lot of Han units and associated Significant Other bonus’ in this talent with nothing but some fast mag mines. Doesn’t seem worth the time.
Wing Commander
This talent ends up being/feeling Gas capped even with the reductions in cost to buying Han’s units. There’s no point in choosing this talent if you can only produce 3 BCs and a few Wraith pairs with all the upgrades… this doesn’t make it a fun play style so much as a pain for the other CO-OP Commander.
I recommend that either have a further decrease in gas and add a resource cost reduction; reduce research costs; or improve gas production with some notional Han unit that increases gas production like Swann’s Vespene drone, but for free.
Galactic Gunrunners
There isn’t much about this play style that is appealing. This is the least used function for this Commander. So you removed a cap and doubled the cost… leaving little reason to still use them. A reduction in recharge even by 10% would be helpful in making this a wanted option for players since you are sacrificing resources that normally go to troop strength for strike capability.
They made two forums for the PTR for where they specifically want things like feedback and bug reports. The one I linked is for feedback, and there’s another one for bug reports.
A new PTR patch was put out today. Anyone know what changed?
