Starcraft Heartstone Protoss content imba

Greetings Executors,

Today I have opened Battle.net and saw Kerrigan’s portait in Heartstone priced as if it was SC2 expansion’s Collector’s Edition. And I puked.
Now I came here to puke again.

Us: Hey, Blizzard Entertainment, can we have the Starcraft commando game please? No? Then maybe the shooter? Alright, atleast do us Tal’darim missions pack?
Activision Blizzard: Want Kerrigan portrait in Hearthstone? No? Too bad, I did it anyway.

Adun Toridas brothers. (Not BatZ)

Game development takes time, wouldn’t expect the shooter to come out in the next 2 years at all

they aint making a shooter for sc2, why would you even think that. and hearthstone released sc2 cards so thats why your seeing kerrigan. and no one cares about your complaint or wants an sc2 shooter. sc is rts, we want more rts not a stupid shooter game.

Blizzard had an open position for lead development (or something of the sorts) for a shooter game and several other positions, they hired several great people who worked on big games like Far Cry. Some people working in Blizzard (some senior, some new) had job descriptions hinting at a new unannounced AAA FPS/RPG title, and others at high positions in the company said or hinted at the fact that Starcraft is not dead to them.
Not weird to think it’s/hope for it to be about Starcraft

dude theres litterally no devolpment for sc2, were on life support through pros balancing among everything else. they have no intentions of a fps let alone fixing the broken sc2 scene. just cause they hired people that are for fps like you said its more for overwatch than for the rts as overwatch is there fps. like serioulsy you gotta be demented to think sc2, which is an rts is gonna change in to a fps.

A shooter called StarCraft: Ghost was once in development but was scrapped. One can hope, but I would say it’s unlikely.

In any case, who is the “us” here that said “we don’t want StarCraft in Hearthstone”? I’m all for more StarCraft-exclusive content and can understand the frustration surrounding the lack of it lately, but I’m not against other IPs borrowing from it, and Hearthstone is a newer and likely more profitable game.

You do realize that World of Warcraft (an MMORPG) and DotA (basically a brand new genre at the time it was made) were based on the Blizzard RTS game called Warcraft, and Heathstone was also originally based on Warcraft lore, right? Some people actually like the lore and universe and are ok with experiencing it in multiple formats.

Your opinion doesn’t count for everyone, and gaming history shows what you call “demented” is actually feasible if the IP is popular enough, though I would say it’s unlikely to happen in the specific case of StarCraft.

In any case, disrespectfully ripping people apart over requests and opinions of what they would like to see regarding an IP they love is childish. It’s ok to disagree respectfully, and you’ll be better respected and more persuasive in turn if you can learn to do that.

There have been two Starcraft projects that were scrapped (that we know of).

One was the above mentioned Ghost. The other was an unnamed project that little was known about. It was cancelled when the team was moved to OW and D4.

There have been murmurs of a SC shooter in the works as recent as 2023-24. At one point the lead on the project was named in one of the leaks. Daniel (something). It even showed that this Dan person came from Far Cry to Bliz several years ago. So the pieces do add up enough to give people hope.

dude sc2 isnt even getting the proper treatment it deserves right now. ie development and bug fixs, and just all around stuff that needs done. we barely are getting balance patchs which have been done by pros for the last year and a half now and theyve made the game ten times worse than what it was. and yes we know dota was made in wc3, that was made by players not blizzard, and is a very poor example of anything your talking about. wow is another poor example as it was just a matter of time to have an open world with everything going that way at the times in gaming. lotr online just hit before that along with other open world success’s which prompted blizzard to jump on the band wagon for that. as for fps thats why overwatch was made, they didnt want a starcraft shooter, which could of been done , instead they made that, and overwatch 2 now. if your hoping for a shooter from blizzard it aint happening, thats what overwatch was made for. your more likely to get sc2 characters in overwatch before you get an sc2 shooter.

According to Jason Schreier’s recent book there was some kind of turn-based 4X StarCraft strategy game that got canceled really early in development.

I’m also willing to bet that they took at least one stab at making a StarCraft game considering they kept insisting they were doing that for all their franchises. It might have even been the mobile game that got canceled alongside the StarCraft shooter code-named Ares.(Blizzard was really talking up mobile games for a while but it says something that Diablo Immortal and Warcraft Rumble are the only titles that ended up joining Hearthstone on the mobile platforms and all three of those are now playable on PC.)

Anyway, some people at the current incarnation of Blizzard do seem to find value in the StarCraft IP but it will be a long time before it’s anything beyond the sort of crossover promotion we’re seeing in Hearthstone.

As for SC2, there’s a lot hinging on Blizzard’s relationship with ESL at the moment.
