So a very simple question; When are we getting StarCraft 3 or the announcement at least!? It’s been 5 years since LotV and we need some new stuff!

On a slightly less meme note: I would pay out of my a** for sc3! You guys can even add skins and all the stupid overpriced features you guys like to add now a days and despite me HATING that kinda stuff hard, I will buy them ALL just to support starcraft! And there are maaaaaany others like me! I’m actually begging you to take my money at this point… just make StarCraft 3! (it doesnt even require a new engine! there’s a money saver for ya right there!)
When lootboxes or “surprise mechanics” become illegal or if blizz gets out of actvi claws, pretty low chance that happens so ur best chance is the first.
unfortunately you’re prolly correct, however we managed to pressure blizzard into making diablo 4 even tho they CLEARLY didnt want to. I’m hoping we can do the same for StarCraft 3! If enough of us start complaining the share holders will force them to listen!
If starcraft 3 ever sees the daylight i want this game to be focused on single player rather than multi. Asymmetrical RTS can never be balanced for all levels of skill, and people will always complain. Instead i would like blizz (or whatever developer) puts their hand on SC3 to bring back that atmosphere from broodwar. Like i said - single player campaign shall be priority and multi secondary thing.
This alone isnt a good enough reason to not have the focus being on single player. The longevity of games like these (like it or not) kinda hangs on the e-sports scene. Now does that mean the campaign has to suffer? No not at all, in fact one of the things blizz actually did really well in LotV compared to older expansion was to properly separate the single and multi- player more and more.
What I think would be a very good addition to the single player is being able to play it in coop mode FULLY! Now that would be the BEST feature they could add to improve the single player experience for me at least.
Hopefully never. ActiBlizzard would make it a C&C4 style MOBA with loot boxes, a subscription fee, and 15 races that can never be balanced. It would be complete and total trash.
Unless frost giant is able to buy the starcraft IP from blizzard they’re the only ones we can ask for a successor. And based on how blizz is dealing with diablo 4 right now with super early community feed back and stuff like that maybe… (as I’m inhaling some serious COPIUM) it will not suck? It’s not very likely but not impossible either.

Let me ask you. Did they make an official announcement saying they would cut Diablo? Did they make one saying they would cut WoW (one of their largest games mind you)? The answer is most likely no. Your logic is complete nonsense - they are not going to cut their most popular franchises for no reason. On the other hand, there is plenty of reason to cut the franchises that are significantly less popular. They made an announcement saying they would cut HOTS. They made an announcement saying they would cut SC2. They literally shut down 2 Starcraft related games before they could be released. Do you honestly think in your right mind they are going to try a third time? And keep in mind - these games in development were in their LATE stages, meaning they were almost done, but for some reason, they chose not to follow through. Now let me ask you again, do you REALLY think they will make SC3? You are the one stuck in a fake reality… Get your head out of the gutter…
HOLD On they need to make proper warcraft before starcraft, just like they did after the failure Diablo importal they make D4, now they need to fix War3 with a new game. But seeing rts is going down they won’t make any
As I understand a lot of the RTS people left Blizzard because after the WC3R fiasco, blizzard closed the door to future RTS releases. I think Blizzard made the conscious business decision to get out of RTS altogether. And unlike most people here I think that is perfectly legitimate (My only complaint right now with blizzard right now is the map pool thing). But yeah I do not expect an SC3 anytime soon unless RTS as a genre becomes popular again.
Now i know its just gossip but a friend of mine’s husband works for blizzard and they told me it was never gonna happen. He says they figured out there just isn’t big enough of a market to make a AAA RTS anymore.
I think opencog is right activision will wait 1st if other companies’ rts become a hit b4 reviving this dead franchise, kids nowadays r bunch of lazy/incompetent in terms of gaming, they want instant reward/no stress game, its the advancement of technology why rts/most competitive genre died
Command and Conquer four was actually a pretty fun game. The issue was that they locked abilities and units behind a grind unless you paid money in a game you already paid 60$ for. SC prides itself on if you get the game you have access to all races and techs from the start. Hopefully they would continue this in a later game assuming they make a new game. I probably would have went with the grind for C&C4 if they kept the Scrin race. However they magically vanished from the game entirely, it would be like as if they made a new SC but removed either Zerg or Protoss. Even their crap mobile game doesn’t have the Scrin.
