What is the news about Starcraft 3 and who has played the beta?
I’m sure it will happen and that it will be a lot of fun but to develop a new engine this complex from scratch plus ideas and design at least 5 years are needed.
So to give you a number, if we started tomorrow it wouldnt be out at least until 2025. Just keep adding one year to this date until an announcement is made.

never because sc2 is dead and they dont see how sc3 would turn a profit if they drop tons of money on it.
Look at how AoE 2 is doing right now, pretty good right ? Imagine is SC3 was that popular and as good to play I mean strategically speaking.
Do you believe the RTS genre is dead? RTS games cannot utilize more than 1 core, so they will always be horribly un-optimized. This is a major turnoff for hardware enthusiasts.
What’s the point of sc3? What would it do that sc2 wouldn’t The graphics still hold up. Multiplayer is popular, and the map editor is very powerful. They can just keep doing content like now. They can add a new campaign if they wanted. They could do a psuo sc3 multiplayer patch if they wanted to. Basically, there’s zero reason for sc3 right now.

I don’t see how it would be worth the time and effort to make a new campaign and a pseudo SC3 multiplayer considering that SC2 will be 10 years old this year. There’s only so much a game can last for before it’s time to move on.
Making a new game typically means it’s a chance for a fresh start or a clean slate and perhaps try something new and different. Gamers would be more receptive to a new game that brings with it modern / updated designs than an old game that’s trying too hard to keep up.
Dead? yeah sure a game that has millions of players across US, EU and recently a new growing community player base in CN.
Tournaments every month and hundreds to thousands of dollars in game. Literally youtube recives more than 100,000 videos about starcraft 2 each hour arround all these servers and regions.
You are so right… this game is SO DEAD. pfff HAHAHAHA.

I’m no expert on either hardware or software, but this sounds very unrealistic. I see no reason for an open-world, immersive RPG to be able to run 12 cores, but not a RTS
That’s just not true, any program can support multiple cores if it’s designed around it. Even if the dev is worried about keeping things from desyncing there’s always things that can be handed off to another core to work on, what matters in a (quality) RTS is that the unit interactions are solid. Keep those on one core, pass things like graphical and sound interactions to another.
When SC2 was being made dual cores were just coming into fashion, so it naturally wasn’t a priority at the time. After all, you basically have to write the code twice to support both single and multiple cores.
No, first a SC 2 remastered in like 2023 )).

They are making this game more dead 28% pvz winrates, waaaaaat th333 f22222ck ??? So people buy warcraft reforged and than sc 3, which will be equally broken… Blizzard games sucks… 2019, 60 fps min barely, single core engine, you need 5ghz i7 and 4000mhz ram to don’t have drops when 200/200 banes ling army attack, you can’t even … Only 2000 series nvidia improved performance in sc2, still people with 1080, if they didnt have 5ghz cpu and 4000mhz ram had 30 fps… But you can download and test hots it was okay, 50 something min on 10 years old pc, but they broken game in lotv, they made it more demanding, but game doesn’t utilize cpu properly and bottlenecks gpu, while they promised better performance in lotv hahaha go figure and than made it worse… I never had problems in hots, my pc is fine i have same score in firestrike and no problem in other games, but i have drops to 30 fps on 4,1ghz geforce 780…
We just have a very active and small community. No one talks about this game outside of this bubble. No news articles, no meme references millions of people could understand, a dying competitive scene, less incoming players as the years go by, except for that new player base. I could go on. If there were an actual resurgence in popularity for this game (such as when it went free a few years back), we would know about it, the world would know about it, the animals would know about it. I know I’m just citing anecdotes now, but literally everyone I know in real life does not play this game anymore if ever. We’ve gotten to a point where if you mention the game, people are usually like huh what’s that? What’s an RTS? No one focuses on this game anymore, even major tournaments are overshadowed by simple tournaments of other games. Some streamers get more views than the entire SC2 category on a daily basis. To relate back to the original post, I don’t think there will ever be new Starcraft content again, and I really hope I’m wrong.
