Starcraft 2 - Removing Carriers From the game

Protoss - this has made protoss really overpowered. not alot protoss players gonna like what gonna say. but here me out. there isn’t any need for them. both races don’t have any solid counters for them. they always been somewhat overpowered. hard to fight against.

sense zerg doesn’t have a scourge unit to deal with them then they shouldn’t exist in letter
Protoss doesn’t need 2 starships

I presume from your post you are low league and its tottaly ok , but actually carrers arent that strong and all races got good counters to them (ofc in most cases you need to manually target carrers or your units will be hitting interceptors (with marines/hydralisk it might be ok if your plan is to kill all interceptors first)):
1-If there is no splash, pure carrers, even stimed marines will kill them
2-Thors can kill them.
3-Bcs with Yamato will easily kill them.Actually if you compare bc to carrer, somehow similar units in tech, carrer seems very weak.
4- Corruptors will shred carrers.
5- Again without ground splash even hydras will kill carrers.
6- Vipers yoink and parasitic bomb
6- Infestors can neural parasite carrers, or fungal interceptors.

Precisely. I would ad that in PvP even a huge number of …Phonixes can kill Carriers. First they kill all interceptors and then with their great speed catch defensless Carriers and kill them. If recalled (Carriers) in 3-4 sec Phoenixes can kill 2-3 extra Carriers…
Carrier is a good unit only on a certain numbers, part of special compositions. Pure Carriers (like every unit of every race is garbage).

Unequivocally false.

I agree with Firestorm, you are probably a low level player (which is totally cool) and are frustrated by losing to carriers. What I suggest is watching ViBE’s Bronze to GM series for Zerg on Youtube and learning how to improve your macro.

Low level games are all about macro, not balance.

Your unit tester got same supply but nearly half less resources for hydras. Yuo cant expect this to be a fair test, you cant expect to beat higher tier units with a number of units that cost nearly half less resources

I have just tested with 4 carrers (1800 minerals 1000 gas) and 18 hydralisks (1800 minerals 900 gas).

1- If you focus carrers the hydralisk win, but by a small margin 1 hydra left.

2- If you a move and hydralisks kill interceptors it isnt even close, i had 9 hydras left. The hydras kill all interceptors then easily finish the carrers.

I tought maybe with more carrers it would go better, since interceptors will better focus fire. Nope, i was suprprised how one sided it was .
8 carrers (3600 minerals 2000 gas) v 37 hydras( 3700 mins 1850 gas).
a- move test -> again hydras kill all interceptors then finish carrers
21 hydras LEFT after the battle.

In short i hope you acknowledge you were wrong, if you are honest

To sum it up: currently carrers are an ok unit, but far from op, one could argue they are even abit underpowered. They can be powerful , but they must be paired with other units, its only the combination that becomes good.

It has been discussed more than once that the main problem for Air-Toss, which is especially felt in the lower leagues, is the too high requirement for control and APM for Zerg and in fact just A + Click for Protoss. Also there is not much base harassment option for Zerg while you try to def your bases from Carriers+Archons+Temlars.
I just wonder why Protoss High Templars got auto attack in one of the patches, Voidrays speed buff and Tempest buff against buildings. Were there any reasons for this? Also in the late game Protoss army is too mobile because of the teleport of Mothership + Nexus. I think Protoss was designes to be powerfull, costefficient but pretty slow race. Especially when it comes to AirToss.

But it seems like Blizzard won’t do any balance patch in the near future or maybe at all.

Tempest good against building since z and t do spore land or turret land thats why they got buffed

Yes you can, 120 supply marines beats 120 supply carriers.

If you’re only argument is cost efficiency then it’s the equivalent of ‘don’t let them get there’.

Not really as written in another post Zerg will remax instantly with the spare resources while Protoss carrers take forever to rebuild.
