Starcraft 2 is blackscreen with sound with Windows 11, 24H2

I just did the windows 11, version 24H2 update and now SC2 is just a black screen. I can hear the game running, but can’t see.

Went through windows support and turned off other programs. Reintalled Geforce drivers and updated framework with no fix.

Anyone else have this problem?

Having same issue here. I guess Microsoft just pushed 24h2 to many people today?

Adjusting resolution and to windowed fullscreen mode works. Thx to Winterkn3. But note that you can only do this 1. In game (currently not possible with the issue) 2. If using Nvidia GPU, Nvidia App works. (My case) Don’t know how to solve this with AMD/Intel GPU.

Yes, I was able to switch the game to “windowed” instead of fullscreen through the Nvidia Settings app and that worked. I’m not sure why this happened. I was on chat with Microsoft support looking for fixes for 1.5 hours. Nothing worked.

Fixed through battle.net app. Select Starcraft 2 but instead of pressing “Play” select the Options button next to play. Then select game settings then Starcraft II should be selected on a dropdown menu and look for “Reset In-Game Options” and click it. Finally click “Reset”. This will delete all of your in game user preferences for Starcraft II. Go back and open Starcraft II to play and it should work. Did for me anyway.

Same symptoms here.
Thanks for your tip, it worked for me.
Side note: I did not install any Windows updates, but I installed the new NVidia app. Since then I had this problem…

are you sure your logged into the the right region as well as live version of sc2 and not the ptr?

C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\StarCraft II

open variables.txt

Turned it back to:

width=1920
height=1080

That worked for me.
