You’re free to make those younger and more thrilling threads instead of pulling corpses from the crypt in discussions that have run their course and have come to their conclusions.

Because there is no need to close them when everyone holds up to some minimal standards of discourse and so its a waste of time for the mods.
You want to pick a topic from old threads and talk about it, make a new one its much cleaner.

Canonically:
In Wings of Liberty, if Raynor chooses Tosh over Nova, he gained his respect to the Raiders by freeing his Spectre buddies by raiding the prison in New Folsom. Then the Spectres will be added to the Raiders’ arsenal.
In Heart of the Swarm, Nova captures Raynor and she thinks that the renegade commander is dead, declared by Mengsk. So she brings him to the prison ship.
In Nova Covert Ops, the Dominion led by Valerian Mengsk clears Nova from any wrongdoings and forgets about hunting down Tosh.
