I started a new playthrough of HOTS and got into the tutorial (lab rat or w/e) and as I get to the point of making the 6 zerglings, the thing keeps nagging me how to do it, despite my already making them, the lings spawn, and it still reads 0/6 zerglings, moreover the made zerglings are all raptorlings… No idea what was going on, had to use the insta-win cheat to get through the mission.
Edit to add: I have a screenshot I can share, just am not overly internet savvy so dunno how to… I posted it in the r/starcraft discord.
Edit 2: wanna mention, this is the base game campaign, I started the game from battlenet and launched this campaign immediately, and not after playing other campaigns.

The good news is that this is a bug caused by the last update of the game, and it seems that everyone is impacted.
The bad news is that the best thing to do is to wait until it is fixed.

I’m having the same issue
Damn, sounded fun, but when I tried, it didn’t happen to me.
I saw someone saying he managed to produce on purpose a similar effect on LOTV by making a save on an advanced mission, then starting a campaign…with the alternate units as picked in the save.
Maybe if you restart the mission, then save, then restart the campaign, it could clear whatever mess is causing your issue?

Is there some way to play an older version offline? Maybe that would help.

Same issue. The campaign is now unplayable.
I’ll add to this thread, in the hopes to bring further attention to the issue.
Currently experiencing the same, and no amount of restarts, mission/campaign wise, solves the problem.
Looking forward to the fix, which hopefully comes soon.
