Solo Co-Op please?

Hello,

I love starcraft 2, but the intense nature of the 1v1 ladder means I can only do a few games before I get burned out.

Co-op is great for relaxing, but my teammates often do more harm than good. Most of the time they are (relative) trash. I would rather play by myself.

Is there anyway we can get a solo mode for co-op? I understand it wouldn’t be possible with random mission (some maps require two people), but for those of us who don’t want to deal with co-op casuals it would be a great help.

Thanks all.

There’s already a way: play with yourself (literally). You’ll need a 2nd pc for that, but if you have that covered, you can play solo.

That’s how many speedruns are done.

Do what I used to do before Co-op came along, which is 1v1 vs AI; yes, it still has a bit of the intensity of ladder, and you might not have commander perks and special units and whatnot, but you also don’t have to worry about Hybrids, attack waves spawning without having to be built first, objectives or, in your case, teammates.

Just to add to Espurr’s comment, you can do it with one computer if you install Sandboxie or something similar. Some of us do play mostly or entirely solo.

Unlikely to happen, when you are requesting to have a solo-mode on a coop mode.

Will warn you that Sandboxie isn’t technically safe (as far as my knowledge) but I also don’t know anyone who uses it that got punished.

Simple solution:
Cue for a match then ask partner to leave.
Or have 2 PC/Laptop

I learn something new every day…

i agree with MystiKasT. i have found out that i can solo most of the co op missions because the person i was playing with quit or was just so bad that i had to do all the work myself.

I’ve tried the sandboxie thing and in the middle of the ‘solo’ I got an error message and my clone account was kicked. It happened tons of times till I finally could play w/o my clone being kicked and then I got another error from my C disk. It seemed sandboxie was eating my C disk and I had no more room left.

Is there another alternative to sandboxie or a tutorial about how to effectively use it at least?

Try setting “Don’t migrate files larger than” to something low. I have it at 48MB. It keeps it small unless you use it often and never empty your sandbox.

I’ll try thanks. Is it on settings or in a message that pops out while I’m playing?

Btw watching pretty old replays I found one with you on SoA as Godzilla and I was Vora, we did a great run b4 the bonus even completed its course and kinda rushed the map a bit.

It’s in the settings for the sandbox you are using.

uh…how do you solo cooperatively? or how do you cooperate solo?

they could just add an AI option to co-op. the team work missions however would require a change so that they can be soloed.

What you’re asking for is just the single player campaign.

While not a permanent solution, there are tons of user made single player campaigns you can play. Check out SC2mapster.

People asking co-op to have solo mode shows how serious the leech problem is. 90% of players are parasites with no clue on game basics but they launch BRUTAL when they need to play tutorials. We came to a situation when honest players see playing conceptually dual mode alone a better option rather than dealing with cancers. Bliz’ fault. Actually we don’t need solo mode. We only need leeches to be kept away. If they want to play brutal - let them do this with each other only (spoiler: they will never win it).

I get your frustration but what a terrible assessment and sentiment.

I don’t know your skill level but any skill is just a result of accumulated experience playing coop. Everyone becomes a pro with enough experience and motivation to get better.

You were a noob just like everyone else. In people’s eyes you were exactly what you are describing, a parasite. Part of the process for people to get better - by seeing how the pros do it. They learn at different rates, so big deal if you had to carry a little more.

Now maybe you are a sc2 coop prodigy and genius by birth, but I seriously doubt it. Instead of being a barrier by hating on these players, why not extend some useful advice. The proposal of “let’s keep leeches away” promotes nothing but more problems.

Lol I can’t even imagine if the same sentiment was taken for real based on speedrunners’ standard. Guess we’ll all play on casual forever then.

most people have been saying solo is the only way to beat the current brutation we got, so I wouldnt oppose it if its something players already have to do just to win.

No, I wasn’t. Because I was playing vs AI in 2010-12, was playing campaigns, gathering achievements. Co-op appeared when I was already a good player.
