This is total BS. im playing ladder trying to learn how to play this game because i should in theory get matched with players my rank and i get matched with master rank people and smurfers from god knows what rank they are. they are doing like 300apm and its gold.
Smurfers are the unwanted childs of humanity and they are gonna smurf because thats just how free to play games are, but i should never ever in my league get placed with masters and grandmasters in ladder. The matchmakeing is so god damn broken its not even funny. There is no room for learning at all when a guy has 200 supply at 8 mins at my level.
i know you guys are gonna say āwell APM doesnt matterā yeah you can shove it because at my rank its a clear indicator of where someone is supposed to be.
I know youtubers like to do it to make themselves look good like winterstarcraft so he can flex on his subscribers, but the problem is also that they have the nerve to talk smack to you at the same time. Im sorry for playing for months almost a year and im not as good as you who have been playing consistently for 8 years.
Why dont you guys go play in your own leagues?

i say if a guy has reached masters or grandmaster they should never EVER get to play in gold especially on ladder.
its not even just gold but below that too. when i was first starting out i got matched with a grandmaster in silver. thats totally not fair. i mean did they buy the warchest and get a free win on some of the lowest ranked players in the game? the worst part is they get points for winning.
some guy even had the nerve to say just keep playing after he just comes in and kills my workers just so i can build like 15 of them and he comes in and kills them.
I want to play this game but after a night of getting crapped on by people who are clearly higher rank then me it kind of kills the spirit. id dont know, i might quit this game for that reason so this might be all in vein so i guess its whatevers.
Check the front page of general forums and you will see the amount of trolls talking their fantasies and blizzard is listening to that. While a problem of your level is not heard , trully a sad company blizzard became.
Is it ranked team we are talking about? If so I donāt know. But if we are talking about 1v1, I can tell you, as a diamond player, Iāve never met higher than a master league who was offracing. Not to call you a lier, but your story (if 1v1) sounds unheard of.
You spoke about free 2 play, so i would assume you are speaking about unranked / newly ranked people who you felt were far better than you. Some strategies at gold / platine can make you feel like you were outclassed, i would adviced watching replay to be sure.
If you are playing team games and wanting to progress, i would adviced playing some 1v1s, thatās where you will be able to Progress.

i got placed into silver 2 and hit 200/200 consistently in 7 minutes 30 seconds
people in lower leagues are too stupid to punish greed at low ranks so i assume ur just letting ur opponent drone up while u rush planetary and missile turret and ghost academy and you are complaining that the enemy decided to build drones and an army before you could mass rng nuke them
it took me 2 months to hit diamond 3, literally because i build drones and hatcheries at a fast level, now 2 months later im still stuck at the plat 1/diamond 3 level because i had extreme health issues. now itās all micro from here so i should be able to crack master 3 once i take the time to practice my micro to a decent level (and completely heal my body so iām all good hopefully in a month or two)
if ur choosing to not build drones in silver or gold or whatever
the enemy is not smurfing bc they hit the d button, if ur getting queen nydused at 3 30 and theres 2 drones that come out place spores and the queens are spreading creep perfectly and lings are getting full surrounds maybe
but buildling drones is not smurfing, itās standard starcraft2 play that even a silver can do
I feel your pain but smurfs cannot be stopped. Think about it logically. What are you going to do, comb through every game and be like āyeah he leaves too much, heās trolling.ā
What if he just has off days? Some people have ms. Cerebral palsy. Work. Kids. Etc. Sometimes you have to leave the game real quick. It happens, especially when youāre an adult.
The guy you are playing might feel bad he has to waste time crushing noobs too. Maybe he didnt intentionally leave those games. Maybe hes in somalia and internet is spotty.
Also, what are you going to do, let people leave games and not put them in lower rank? Then everyone will just leave games the second they are losing.
So no, there is no āfixā for smurfing.

Yeah there really is no viable fix for thisā¦
The only thing you can do is if someone leaves an excessive amount of games, to the point itās obvious there is some abuse. (Hundreds of games.) If you lower it too much you can punish innocent people.
Even then there might already be a penalty for doing this, but I donāt remember too well if there is or isnāt.

Well, Thats what you get. If blizzard would actually make the game enjoyable enough to play at a higher level.
Balanced enough. People wouldnt have to resort to making alt accounts to regain fun in the game.
Theres no true cassual nature in sc2 once you go 1v1. Everything from āunrankedā to ārankedā only forces you to give more and more of yourself.
The toxic 4v4ās where cassuals last bastion, but thats infested with cannon rushers, ling spammers and AFK carrier spammers.
If you constantly have to work to play the game, the game loses its flare.
Ive already stated there should be a completely unranked seperate MMR matchmaking. So you can find people of any skill-level.
because joining custom games on a masters account ussually means your getting kicked out.
yeah april its not letting them drone up. i go to every person profile after the match and look at the 1v1s so i can see the smurfers and master rank guys dropping their rank. its intentional and i can tell. They have solid builds and know the counters mins in advance. Iām not high ranked but i have a brain and logical thinking. I lose games once and awhile but not a slaughter like when a smurfer is playing.
killerof gods gets what im saying and i know there is no fix because its free to play. people actually tell me that its their 12 account or so and rub it in.
im just posting this because its BS and maybe people can see what drives people away from this game. This game is just too old and people know it too well for it to be noob friendly.
Is it still smurfing if I get drunk af and play retarded games and drop all the way to silver in one day? Cause I got back up as fast as I could with extreme rushing.

It doesnāt matterā¦ If you get better than you rank up easilyā¦ You shouldnāt care about your rank honestly at allā¦ Because it doesnāt matter if you lose to smurfs. I was playing game when there was no mmr visible and it took couple wins in a row against master players to rank up and i was getting even grandmasters players when i was diamond, but i played with mentality to improve and i even once beatean korean pro, when i was diamond league, by luck he had all his tanks unsieged and i rushed inā¦ It literaly f2cking doesnāt matter if you play against gm, or pro. Just try to have fun and practice if you want to improve, or whatever and stop b1tching like f2cking wh0re and st fu pleaseā¦
I agree with @spadesfrost this is a problem. The game should be equally fun at all skill levels, and it is not fun to get smurfed on just so some kids can have an ego trip. This doesnt help cultivate any new playerbase or community, and in the end market shrinks, blizzard doesnt find sc2 profitable , and this amazing game fades.

Do you think that blizzard cares ?? They donāt even ban hackers in their game and make game f2p. Noone can do anything against that, this game is to small for blizzard to care. Even in lol smurfs are not bannedā¦ My advice to you stop caring and just leave game against smurfsā¦
I will admit i play random to practice offraces at lower leagues, but whenever i get my main i pretty much become a smurf . But thatās not intentionalā¦

When blizzard stops caring is when they cease hosting wcs finals atblizzcon, patching, coordinating balace changes, etcā¦ pretty much what happened with Heroes of the Storm. Of course the shrinking market correlates with the reduced focus on sc2, and thats a shame. Doesnt have to be that way, look at how much blizz invested into supporting WoW through decades. If more new players could enjoy sc2 without needing to invest daily hrs to have an enjoyable experience then the community would grow and blizz would try a little harder to fix more issues (hacking, smurfing, balance, etc)

Smurfs sucks but there isnāt really a viable fix. Just know that they quickly are sent back to the rank theyāre supposed to be at, and the flipside is sometimes you match with people who autoleave and give you a free win.
