Just played Swann after a long time on ME and I was surprised to find my own missile turrets taking significant damage from splash damage from my Siege tanks. Now as far as I can remember Siege tanks do not do friendly splash damage in coop. When was this changed? Is this a bug?

Got a replay? Because like you said, friendly fire isn’t present in coop.
My bad. Ignore that post, been a while since I played at low graphics so I wasn’t able to recognize the volatile infested infested spawning on top of my turrets.

Otherwise, my guess would’ve been you accidently explicitly attacked it. In the heat of battle, it’s easy to lose track of a LOT of things.

While we’re at it… when you have a Coop game in progress, press F12, and it’ll bring up a help menu with Coop specific tips, changes, and instructions.
The ones that stood out include (but not limited to):
–The mini-map will show attack waves and Objectives (Main and Bonus ones)
So no need to scout. That said, you’ll still need vision for certain abilities to work
–mini-map also shows where heroes are
–Buildings that normally cannot be placed on Creep can now be done
I used to get antsy when my Zerg ally “spills over” into my base. One day, I built Protoss/Terran building on Creep, and noticed that wasn’t an issue!
–no friendly damage whatsoever
Feel free to nuke, storm, and Banaling bust to your hearts delight without worrying about your own or your ally’s units/structures
–In addition to completing the main objectives, both players must have at least one structure to avoid the lose condition
You’ll often see Terran players lift their buildings and get to safety for solo runs, or in normal games as a last ditch effort to prolong the game.
Yeah, good thing there is no friendly fire, otherwise all-these-weaker-than-1v1 co-op tanks would be completely terrible… (no I will not stop complaining that 1v1 tanks get more dps than upgraded swann tanks and full mastery raynor tanks)
Imagine if coop had splash damage. zagara would probably be one of the most hated commanders right now. Though it could help in forming communication and teamplay with other players like telling the zag player to dive in first and you clean up after.
Karax wouldn’t be able to do “surgical strikes”. Or maybe he would? (Should. Better). It’d be pretty bad if his “stun strike” did affect your ally’s units, although I’m sure heroic units would be immune.
I mean, Banes don’t do friendly fire in 1v1 either, and since banes 2 shot banes I think you know how it would go if they did.
Huh. I didn’t know that. I’ve barely played any ladder games so I just assumed that those things exploding does damage to anything nearby. I guess that explains why there’s no chain reaction explosion when a horde of them get attacked. That or I’m just used to C&C suicide bomber mechanics.
IIRC, when banalings are killed, they just die. They don’t detonate.
No, they detonate. Otherwise marines would wreck banes so hard it would be sad.
I once had an ally killing all my creep tumors… even saying that he can buil don it would not stop him… guess he lost too often to zerg cheese or somthing and can’t stand to see creep in his base.
Heroic units are not immune to karaxs upgraded orbital strikes… they are just slowed instead of stunned.
I mean, I wouldn’t go as far as to kill creep tumors, but I do kinda get disappointed with all that creep messin’ up my epic Protoss or Terran base. It’s especially annoying with Stukov’s global creep domination.
