Should something be done about creep spread?

At lower leagues this won’t matter, but starting at mid-diamond, creep spread gets a little crazy… they’re free to spread and gives zergs move speed while letting them see whenever the opponent is about to attack… that’s pretty dumb for something that’s free and spreads so quickly.

I think master & GM zergs would actually agree that the creep spread is kinda ridiculous and wouldn’t mind a big nerf to it.

Creep is the single most powerful feature/ability in the game.

creep has already been nerfed several times. it spreads more slowly and recedes much faster and zerg can no longer use the cancel trick.

Creep is absolutely fine the problem is the speed they get spread because of Mass Queen. So the problem is the Queen.

Creep spread can be denied, in case you didn’t know. It’s YOUR job to keep creep spread in check.

Good luck with that

remove queen, change creep to bw. Cool idea that worked out bad, along with the queen, the chrono boost and inject. Much more balanced without these. Economy is broken even more from LotV anyway.

No vision on inactive tumors. gg ez.

So you’re prepared to have zerg units super buffed to compensate for much less larvae?

why? When other factions have their respective wannabe cool macro stuff removed, it should be much more balanced and not as easy to snowball out of control.

You didn’t mention removing mule did you? You only mentioned queen/inject and chrono

I did not mention it because I thought it made sense. So, yes, remove mules as well.

It’s interesting on what people take issue with. In the next thread over, someone takes issue with how Terran scan can be done over and over. Here, you take issue with creep, which doesn’t detect cloak and can’t just drop in an enemy base early on.

Terran counter it easy with rapid fire units and scans, tearing up large chunks of tumors. Speedy unit in. Speedy units out.

Protoss easily counter with observers or disruptors ever (sorta).

For two races that have flip tons of aoe and detection, creep should be the least of your concerns.

There are plenty of ways to be out on the map denying creep. Hellions or adepts or oracles. Creep spread is fine. It’s stupid to talk about nerfing everything. Creep spread is too strong nerf it. They already have. Not much more we can do to nerf it and not just make it stupidly dumb.

It’s on the player going against the creeps job to maintain it, not the creeps job to just be useless. If there needs to be a change it should be on the offensive side not the defensive.

What makes you think I would agree with you. Lmao

You just make more hatcheries like in BW.

Point of order, they tried removing macro mechanics half-heartedly, but it was two strong, because they only removed it for terran and protoss, while zerg got to keep theirs, and have it automated.

It was busted, obviously. And two weeks later they reverted it.

I feel like instead we should just flat out remove macro mechanics as a whole. Give that a trial run. Zergs can always make more macro hatcheries the same way terran and protoss make more production structures.

Honestly, it would probably be broken in zerg’s favour if this happened though, but we don’t really have anything to test and check.

I would also like to see the mining nodes have their minerals reverted to HotS, but make it so more workers = less efficient, to allow for better economy.

Oh the joy I felt knowing Zerg would have yet another wasted APM dump that they have to do or die! The tingling on my face was as though I’d died and gone to heaven!

Much to my disappointment, yes. It was busted that zergs had to work 10x harder to win.

Could not be more wrong, as usual. Inject got nerfed more than mules and chrono and that’s why Zerg’s eco became much weaker in LOTV.

Inject also isn’t “automatic”, it’s just able to be queued now. Terran and Protoss can continue to spam their macro mechanics just like they were always able to do. Zerg’s macro mechanic is still the most difficult in the game, by far.
