+2 damage vs light.
Also give it 6 range so it stops trying to suicide in the front lines as it’s an obvious backline unit.
Why? Sentry’s need more relevance.
Buffing it’s stats doesn’t matter with warpgate because it’s not a combat unit, it’s most importantly a spell unit and high gas. so it avoids the “boo hoo, cry cry whine, you can’t buff gateway units because of warpgate, tears tears, qq.”
It costs gas instead of minerals and needs time to gather energy so warp in doesn’t matter as much obviously.
Gives Protoss a little more backbone against earlier lings or marines or just generally slightly improves the comp overall.
Avoids the whole hallucination/ff being annoying if they were able to produce a lot more sentry’s like the other common buff suggestion, making them 75 gas.

Excellent take, a small range buff is great since currently it’s one of the first units to get wiped out in an engagement. That with a cost reduction should see Protoss shape early fights to better favor gateway units without outright buffing them. That avoids any unforeseen balance problems. Would love to see it.
lets also give the high templar +2 bonus against armoured for even more tickle power.
have the feeling that Sentry feel most comfortable with archon. 5 range behind 3 range which is tanky and stands in Guardian Shield.
but both are gas intense.
i’m thinking more about the idea of sentry getting a mechanic so that they are more passive to other units.
For example, you can connect her to a unit. that unit has increased damage. so sentry is next to or behind stalkers instead of in front of them and you have the abilities.
A comparatively insignificant change.
Comes out far later into the game and can go into an archon once it is done.
Not nearly as accessible and requiring multiple tech structures and there isn’t any bases on which Templar would deal extra damage to armoured where Sentry’s previously did additional damage to light.
Colossus minor buff proves subtle changes to under powered units can be good.
