Seeing Mini-map Colors Easier

What colours for yourself and your opponent do you use to be able to easily be able to spot small dots on the mini-map?

I find have a particularly hard time spotting drop ships on my laptops screen.

The minimap as a whole is entirely too small.
99% of the game takes place on 5% of the screen.

Turning off the minimap-details helps. It’s much easier to spot dots in a black-background.

That’s why it’s called the mini map

I just use team colors so the enemy is always red and I’m always green.

That’s true but even if they made it 15-20% bigger (there is space that will not decrease the active-map) i doubt that Zerg/Terran/Protoss players would protest.
This is a 10+ year old request where all three races agree.

Considering I’ve never seen a topic to make the minimap bigger. I doubt it’s a 10+ year old request that all 3 races agree. It’s called the minimap because it’s mini. It’s supposed to be small. If you make it bigger you take up more of the screen with the UI. There are lots of things that could be tweaked in the game and the minimap isn’t one of them.

Search and you will see. You are the first in absolute terms that is against a small (even user definable up to 20% bigger) increase of the minimap.
Believe me, there are a lot of posts requesting this.

Been playing since day 1 and I follow the forums, TL, and reddit. People may bring it up, but a bigger minimap isn’t a huge movement like you are making it sound.

I personally pick my mini map color based on the console’s theme so it’s easy for me to immediately depict what’s me. Enemy colors I usually catch it regardless if it’s the darkest color or lightest, but usually the color that matches the console the least so it stands out.

But I also periodically check my mini map every 10 seconds or so. So choose an enemy alliance color based on what sticks out the most.

Lol… Did you learn to speak from Trump University?

I agree with Valon, to call this a 10+ year request is a lot too far fetched.

but you can already do that… can’t you? i mean i have all my colors set to what i want.

i currently don’t have any issues with their current options and wouldn’t look any further to change it, i don’t see the point.

i use dark purple for my own base, very easy for me to tell everything else that is RED that i need to kill, haha.

i don’t play very many team games and i just turn the color options off for team games, so i can tell which team is which, i don’t like it when one big ball of red is coming but it’s multiple armies.

Larger minimap has been brought up many times since WoL.
But there is always some copper league zealots that don’t even use the mini that shoot this simple obvious massive improvement down.

You know why you don’t hear actual outcry from people asking for it?
BECAUSE THEY STOP PLAYING BECAUSE IT IS TERRIBLE

LOL, it is true that the lower are you on ladder the less use you have of minimap. Day9 and others have dedicated whole programs precisely to the use and importance of the minimap.

I don’t know if this has been said before, but I find it a lot easier to see things on the minimap (and other stuff too) with the graphics setting on low and gamma at 11 / 11, which makes everything really bright.

maybe this helps, maybe it won’t. good luck finding solutions!

Worth a try. Yep I am still around.

Gamma at 11/11? Lol is that a joke. I agree that higher gamma is good but maxed out xD

Would love if the Minimap was larger and overall UI was more clean i.e. less stuff that doesn’t need to be there like the zerg/protoss/terran borders and more room for the minimap or just more screen space for the game.
