This only started recently, like the past few weeks. I’ve tried a pile of fixes based on other threads, including the replacement of the config file, but nothing has worked. I’ve been running the game on this system problem-free for years, then suddenly this happened.
PC Stats:
2016 build
Windows 10
R9 270 GPU
i7 6700 CPU
16gb RAM
1TB HDD with 90% free space
Here’s my best description of what happens:
-
I press “Play” in Battle.net launcher, the button switches to “Launching” then back to “Play”, then just does nothing for about a minute.
-
Then it goes to a black screen for roughly 3 minutes where nothing happens and I can’t even Alt+Ctrl+Del my way out.
-
Then it goes to the Starcraft 2 splash page with Kerrigan/Raynor/Artanis and sits there for a minute or two.
-
Then it goes to the “Authenticating” screen for a minute or two before finally telling me that it can’t connect to the servers so I’m playing offline, but it connects me to the game normally a split second later and everything is fine after that. Just a 5-10 minute hassle every single time I want to play.
It’s like it’s cycling through a bunch of server call attempts and getting hang ups or timeouts before finally managing to connect, or something…?
Does anyone have any clue what I can do to fix this?
I’ve tried uninstalling everything Blizzard related and reinstalling it, didn’t work.
I’ve tried replacing the Config file as per other threads, didn’t work.
I’ve deleted the Starcraft 2 folder in My Documents, deleted campaign progress, saves, everything else… no luck.
I’ve factory reset my whole PC to try to remedy this and still this is not fixed.
There’s tons of free space on my HDD.
I’ve got blazing fast fiber op internet.
And the game worked perfectly for the past 8 years on this PC.
Please help… I’m going nuts here.
