When you vs tossers, add widowmines and ravens to your composition.

:man_cartwheeling:

I haven’t played for many months due to my computer being burnt, but I posted because I was still interested in the game and watched it every day.The good news is that today my new toaster comes and I will play again as soon as I can (and I will play as T or Z to all of those who call me P player). In my opinion it makes no sense in posting when you have no interest in the game or Batz’s tales.

I havent played in a long time. My graphics card blew up and Im saving one maybe I will purchase one before Christmas as a reward for myself . But I still watch StarCraft games and some content creators whenever I have a chance. Starcraft will always be a part of my life.

Activision is trying all the time, by making servers not working, patches that break game or other bugs.
But for some reason some people just keep coming back and can’t learn to leave.

I wish it wasn’t this way, though.

Pretty sure my profile is very visible. You can check my forum activity and see a noticeable decline. You can also go on whatever other statistics website and probably see a flatline on my stats or something along those lines.

These things are very easy to verify, yet somehow you decided to use less than 1% of your brain and come up with a reply you probably thought was clever or funny. Guess that makes sense when you’re undead.

On a related note, I still come here to see if people still balance complain. I stick around for the drama against the game and company. If there’s any big news, that’s also cool to see. That’s why I haven’t dropped the forums entirely.

I would agree with the original poster, I find starcraft 2 very very fun and maybe slightly addictive. Whenever I get mad “at the game” it’s really just me needing to get better. The reward for improvement is as great motivator, even though I am finding it harder to improve at the moment.

As far I know there was not a single gamebreaking patch except the beta warhound, that was the only thing that made the game unplayable, rest of the time was either some strong unit or strat but never broken, even the imba things had some kind of counter. And bugs…none of them were gamebreaking except that funny flying PF that lasted one day.The only dominant bug is that visual ladder bug that gives master.Overall the sc2 game was pretty fine in terms of bugs and of course, the servers, rarely they were down and rarely Inhad problems with them.

SCII WAS fun until Legacy came out to gut macro.

Bad enough beloved FFA was removed - worse that the game was gutted then Pay to Play/Win was added.

It’s true. And this is going to a point where I’m thinking they should hire me, so that I can fix stuff from my home. Things would move on faster than the ghosts they hire to fix bugs and stuff.

Gut the macro?, people complained a lot about legacy focusing on macro since most games ended with tons of bases and lategame compositions. Or do you mean that small macromechanic change they did?.

Especially at the end that is exactly what I say about SC2 and Age since SC2 came out.
Instead of seeing it as a problem see it as a chance to improve SC 2. SC 2 has on many areas a very good design, but in a few important areas an absolutely terrible design. And the reason why SC 2 has this terrible design in a really few areas is easily explain through the history of the development. At the beginning SC 2 was a copy of SC 1. Same units, same buildings, same look of buildings and units as in SC 1 and same values (attack damage, attack speed etc.). Then they improved the movement AI of units so they stick perfectly together instead of have natural gaps between each other. The result was that more units are in range and the real damage is much higher as in Starcraft 1 although the hard numbers are the same. In addition area damage becomes much more effective, because more units are affected by area damage although the hard numbers of things like Psi-Storm etc. were the same. But the result through the improved movement AI was that buildings and units are destroyed much faster. So you have less time to react to attacks, to save buildings or armies. So if you haven’t the skill to react very fast or you perfectly scout where the opponent probably attack so your army is in range to defend you lose the game in a few seconds. That make feel Starcraft 2 very frustrating. Just a little group of humans who are able to react so fast can play Starcraft 2 in a way it has to be played. And most players don’t go through the valley of frustration to get better reactions and some can’t because you automatically became slower when you get older. In general to react fast is really hard to train and a game should not feel like hard training. Your learn experience should be a natural nice feeling part of the game. That makes SC 2 for a lot of players less interessting. It feels not like a strategy game. It feels like a reaction game. The customer does not have to adapt, but the product, the game have to! It would improve the game for all players when units and buildings have more life and or deals less damage so you have time to react to things so it becomes a strategic game and not a reaction game.

But to do that without completely destorying the current balance is too much work. Therefore Blizzard hasn’t done it and will never do. They didn’t know that the movement AI change has a so big impact on the whole game. They fixed here and there some symptoms like increasing life of HQs or decreasing the radius of Psi-Storm and many more things, but that isn’t the core problem. They just tried to fix the problem in the extrem cases where it became clear, but they haven’t fix the core issue, because they haven’t seen it and or it would be too much work to do that. They would have to change a lot of hard numbers.

So it is like it is and SC 2 became not as popular as it could be. Sad but true. It is sad, because I really like a lot of things of SC 2, but that problem ruined the game for many players over the years. And even some pro gamers say Starcraft 2 is too fast and feels less strategic. Things I say about SC 2 for years. The evidence became bigger and bigger over the years and more and more players from all areas support this opinion. So enjoy your game that could be interessting for more players, but will never be.

I mean you don’t have enough resources in base to feed a large army - losing an expansion loses the game if you can’t reply with the same as your main and natural are nearly mined out.

Absolutely decimated FFA greatest of gamestyles.
