Generally speaking, there are only 2 types of people on these boards – lunatics & grifters. Finding a mentally sane person here is like finding finding oil in your backyard. I know a guy who has a big property and found oil. The us government pays him not to mine it, ironically. He takes out 10,000 from the bank each month in spending cash. Last I talked to him, he landed a helicopter in Antarctica. That’s an interesting person to talk to. These are deranged to think they are entitled to someone’s time.

By the way, speaking of people who don’t respect your time, I once had a girlfriend. Let’s call her Sarah. I come from a mormon area, and their religion has a very high emphasis on community service. So they tend to think they are entitled to peoples’ time. It’s just part of the culture. So Sarah would think “Oh my poor friend has a crappy apartment, you know how to remodel and stuff, so why don’t we do new counter tops for her kitchen?”. It makes no sense to do, right. She doesn’t own the place. She would be giving free counter tops to her landlord. The landlord could sue her if there is some sort of issue in the future, so now she has to warranty them. Well this chick gets approval from her landlord and my GF finds some used quartz counter tops on craigslist for $100 – literally a 10x discount. So she thinks it will only take a weekend. Fast forward to monday and it’s morphed into a $3,000 remodel including installation of microwaves, installing new cupboards, and discovering loads of maintenance issues with the plumbing and electrical. There isn’t a single GFCI outlet in the whole place. Crazy. At any point in the future the landlord can say any of these issues are our fault for remodeling unless of course I fix them. So now I am headed over to her place on monday, it was supposed to be a weekend project, and my GF calls and says she won’t be able to make it. Unreal. Gifting a free kitchen remodel to the landlord so that this chick and her kids can have a slightly nicer kitchen for 6 months of however long they stay there, and my GF can’t even show up to finish the job. That’s why she ain’t my GF anymore. Gotta find a lady who respects your time.
To this day, she still doesn’t recognize what she did wrong. It’s the mormon indoctrination that makes her think she gets thousands of $$$ in free labor because it’s the “christian” thing to help people in need. It’s like, girl, let’s given them some money for gas, or take some dinner over for them on occasion. But a free kitchen remodel? That’s called getting railroaded. You gotta have boundaries for pete’s sake. No muff is worth that price, no matter how hot she is. Your time is your valuable resource by far. If she can’t respect that, she doesn’t respect you. You’re a toy to her. She’s milking you as a golden cow for free stuff.

If not counting Serral, Zerg was still performing much better than T or P because you have at least 3 other good zergs: Dark, Rogue and Reynor (and even Solar if you were generous). However Rogue went to military, now Dark is going to military, and Reynor is having fun offracing with Protoss, perhaps not even being interested in playing Zerg any more. That’s why many people get that skewed perspective “It’s only Serral”, but it’s not. You had 4 zergs that completely dominated pro-scene since 2017. From 2017 to 2024 they won EVERY single World Championship except 2023.

If ladder population is dropping every season, how can you say new players are coming ? Maybe you mean co-op or arcade, but not ladder. And even if some casual tries out SC2 ladder, they will get stomped and quit. So not sure what “new players” you were talking about.
as you say there are 4 players who dominate, not the Zerg race. Which leads to your second statement:
zerg became more and more limited, but the 4 have skill and have found a way to stay in the game.
Currently balance team has managed to break Drak and raynor, as well as many casual zerg players.
This game is pretty much dead. When a sc1 vs sc2 mod is talked about more than GSL, you know the player base is dropping hard. Problem is you can’t delete Zerg from the game just because you want to see Serral stop winning. The baneling/infestor nerfs alone were huge devastating nerfs that Terran/Toss have never seen the likes of. Now Zergs Tier 3 except one spell caster is basically worthless. I’ll never understand why we handed off the balance to a bunch of people with huge conflicts of interest.

It’s literally never been “just serral”. That people still parrot this is hillarious to me. Up until 2022, Zerg had more victories and unique victors than both protoss and terran combined, and 2023 still had more than both protoss and terran overall. They also had more runner-ups and more unique runner-ups too.
It’s never been “Just Serral.” It’s been, Serral, Dark, Reynor, Rogue, and even Solar.
Meanwhile Terran’s been Clem and Maru, while Protoss has been… HerO and MaxPax, the latter of whom doesn’t compete offline, and the former of whom is about as consistent as diarrhoea.

There isn’t a single one of them with a computer science background. None of them are qualified for this job. That’s painfully obvious if you look at the fact that they made the balance situation worse twice in a row. They simply don’t know what they are doing.
They are also trying to balance the game around outliers. Anyone with an introductory level understanding of statistics cringes when they hear that. You can’t measure balance for outliers by definition. That is why they are called outliers. If you can’t measure balance then how are you going to make good balance decisions.
