Is this a bug or …
I have looked online and can not find anything posted since 2020.

I’m having the same issue.

I think I figured out the problem but not the solution.

If you try to run Starcraft 2 in OpenGL mode, it will not launch and you are required to reset the in-game settings back to Metal before it will launch. The Error you get is word for word the same as the one we are encountering when trying to launch Starcraft Editor.

This leads me to believe that Starcraft Editor is trying to launch in OpenGL mode, rather than Metal. I can’t find a config file or text document related to Starcraft Editor that I can edit in order to change this.

I’m still trying to figure out a solution. Hopefully with this information somebody can do more than I can.

For reference, I am using a M2 Mac Air 2022.
Starcraft runs perfectly, but SCEditor will not launch at all.

I have posted a separate bug with this exact same issue. I have a brand new M3 MacBook Air. SC2 runs perfectly. The editor yields the same error message.

I haven’t messed with Metal vs. OpenGL. I’ve reviewed the system for updates, and I’ve searched for help online. I can’t find a resolution.

Can anyone help?
