How much of an improvement would you see in SC2 with this CPU?
Tired of playing at sub 60fps during any engagement.
No matter how many cores would you have, because sc2 would not use them. So the only important thing is the performance of a single core, so there is no processor, which would be able to give you 60 fps in 4vs4 maxed engagements (except maybe some overclocking to 6 GHz). For 1vs1 it would absolutely more than enough.
Wondering if anyone has any numbers on the average frame rate of the 5900x.
And yes I have 45 or less fps in 1v1’s engagements.
Also I do play other games and stream so the more cores would probably be helpful outside of just starcraft.
Probably no one, but you will get over 100 stable for sure if you have a solid GPU to back it up.
Well after I pick one up I’ll post my old build and my new one and share the data.
Still anyone else is encouraged to share the improvements they noticed.
Idk I think that if you overdo some Overlords might still explode your r9 5900x.
Improvement compared to what?
SC2 uses only 2 cores.
Sure it is good might be even overkill. I have older ryzen 5 cpu and doesnt have much.
I wonder if even if you mine an entire map and only build Overlords if that would kill an ryzen 9.
Well the big issue with me is that I also stream, I record. I video edit.
I want to be able to stream starcraft 2 and have stable framerates but at the moment if I can’t even do 45 frames in an engagement how is that going to be possible?
Ryzen 3000 series was already better than Nividia and Intel when it came to streaming and playing at the same time so I am hoping for the same uplift in the 5000 series.
