Rogue vs Zest game 4

I don’t understand how Rogue win this ???
Rogue lose 17 drones during early on adept.
Rogue throwing like 15 roachs for forcing zest cancel a nexus (100 minerals only for Zest)
Rogue lose another 20 drones when Zest pushing.
Rogue win because can defend huge Zest composition and push at the same time with swarm host.

Lost to many adepts for 17 drones, but still that doesn’t make up for the fact that SH is the worst unit in the game

remove swarm host its bad for the game
we dont like free units (locust)
we want a game that supports micro and macro plays
swarm host doesnt support both of these plays

If you don’t understand how he won this, you don’t understand basic SC2.

you are Diamond with 5k games and you play zerg. You cannot talk about understanding basic SC2 mate

They should add a mineral cost “per locust”, like they did with interceptors. That way at least the zerg would actually be investing something to throw wave after wave into protoss/terran. As it stands, fighting vs a unit that throws FREE units that have enourmous DPS just snowballs too fast.

Exactly! It’s so simple! Zerg crushes Protoss despite being less skilled and not needing to play “well,” and it’s been that way for multiple years.

Thank you for the history lesson.

Ok do this, but make locust last until theyre killed (like interceptors) aaaaaaand make it so that they can fly back to the sh (like interceptors).
I bet you wouldnt like this.

It all comes down to the cost … and that you can tweak until u reach balance.

If ppl are proposing nerfs, it makes no sense to add a boost to a unit that is already perceived as too strong?

This is the problem with adept timings that don’t kill bases. If you don’t have DT follow up to kill bases or a 3rd base of your own with mass immortal waiting, the zerg just rebuilds drones. I’ve had games where I killed 50 drones with adepts, lost all my adepts to queens and roaches, and they rebuilt 40 drones and I only ended up ahead like 5-10 drones. Zest killed a ton of drones but they just got rebuilt because he never killed the 3rd base.

I mean can you imagine, you loose some locusts and they come down and don’t get 3 free tanks, instead they fall into hellbats and it’s not “eh, well, i’ll get 3 free tanks next wave.” It’s like “oh, crap, I actually risked something and lost it…” Can you imagine?

and can you imagine… to build a marine, that will die after 30 seconds? and after it died, you have to pay for another marines, that only last 30 seconds. can you imagine?

thats how dumb this suggestion of a cost for locust is.

The point is that currently, locusts allow you to do damage without risking anything. Nothing. And, unlike BCs which at least take a little bit of skill, Swarm Hosts require zero.

Swarm host is IMO irredeemable unit. No matter how much you will play around this concept for a unit is both boring and leads to problems with gameplay and poor viewing/playing experience. Also just notice where infested terrans are. Gone like they should be since forever.

It was introduced as an alternative way for zerg to break tank lines in ZvT in the times where ravens were ultra powerful late game unit to cover them.
Since then the game changed a lot and zerg now posses powerful spellcasters to deal with that easily. Vipers have two spells that counter tanks, ravagers are excellent in the earlier game as utility to snipe down tanks and there is still possibility to do the same with mutas like in the past. We also saw some pros use infestors neural parasite to deal with tanks too. Not to mention zerg now has pretty much powerful tank unit themselves.

SH is absolutely unnecessary and should be removed from the game. This curse has been hounting sc2 playerbase since years and needs to go.

would you agree, that the nerf suggested by plague is dumb?

Perhaps, but it’s smarter than having that unit at all in the first place.
