Returning to the Game

Hey everyone! Sorry if this isn’t the correct place to post, but I’m looking at returning to the game after being gone since the beginning of HotS. I was wondering, what is the player base like as far as number of people playing? If I calibrate in bronze will there actually be a decent amount of people to play against? And has there been a power creep where perhaps Gold players now are better than Gold players 6 years ago?

Thanks in advance for the help, and as always and advice for getting back into the game would be appreciated :slight_smile:

  1. There are plenty of people, you will be able to find games even in off hours
  2. Yes, in general the skill level has climbed, but low leagues are still low leagues. This is more noticeable in M3+

Yes power creep is noticable but the league distribution changed heavily so its hard to tell how exactly it transfers now. In my eyes bottom of diamond (nowadays diamond 3) was stronger back then than it is now. But yeah you will notice an increase of skill in in high d2 i think. upwards it gets harder and harder compared to back then.

Go away !!! This game gotten so much worse, it is micro mechanics fest, without any skill, or strategy. Just who is suiciding units into mineral line is winning, skill doesn’t matter…
