Yep, they pretty much ruined the game. I was able to get to 5400 MMR with Protoss just camping with Void Ray Colossus in EVERY matchup and then A clicking once I had +3 air and +3 ground. I had an oracle or phoenix out and anytime they’d attack a position I’d just add 4 shield batteries and all of a sudden they have no way to attack. The game might be ‘balanced’ on the super highest levels but it’s simply boring to play compared to HOTS or WOL.
The expansions are all super accessible and easy to take now, each main has a guaranteed 5 bases you can get on if you want to turtle.
They also included a ton of ‘jack of all trade’ units like Cyclones and Shield Batteries, so punishing a worse player isn’t even an option anymore. Let’s not even talk about zergs having 12 queens out and 4 bases at 6:30 and how boring that is.
There’s also no more magic to the game since all battles are decided in the first 3 seconds.
