Remove Karax camera transition

When I want to use Spear or Purification Beam, I lose precious seconds on the camera transition. pls, just remove that silly feat.

Yeah, it gets especially annoying when the camera glitches up. Not to mention Solar Lance still has that “I lose all remaining charges if I lose vision, even though it’s not of the player’s fault” problem.

It’s pretty pointless on the Purification Beam, but I would be for keeping it on the Solar Lance if having it actually gave some benefits for the player.

Something like revealing fog of war from already explored areas, or giving it a large vision radius centered on the area where the camera was when the transition was activated (this is probably the better option).
That would actually make it easier to use Solar Lance.

Actually I don’t understand why camera transition initially exists.

It’s supposed to be a cool effect, since it was made for Campain, I see no problem, but for Co op it’s terrible. I even avoid Artanis orbital strike, and Karax Solar Lance because of the camera transition.

It’s less bad if you have rapid fire hotkeys set up, because you can use that key for your left click when casting abilities which means you can unload your whole payload before it has more than barely started the camera transition, firing even solar lance in under a second, accurately if you get the hang of it.

Big difference being that in the campaign it’d freeze time as well, so the flashy animation didn’t cause issues.

It’s also created some interesting replay views. The “perpetual view from 100K feet up”.

I’m just annoyed to be losing the mini-map when in “solar lance” view

I wouldn’t be opposed to just removing Karax entirely since he’s like dead weight 9 out of 10 games.

It’s not just a camera transition… the SoA need those precious seconds to switch into their respective “super laser” modes

It’s the Protoss version of putting on sunglasses before annihilating something with your high orbit machine gun.

Karax is tricky to play effectively, but a good Karax can carry your butt on almost any map.

More times than not, I’d prefer Artanis. However, if I got stuck with Karax via “Random CO”, I wouldn’t mind.

That said, I’ve seen good Karax players, and they DEFINITELY carry their own weight. They have harder time pushing earlier, but once they ramp up, they’re as good as many other COs. Some of them are good at pushing as Karax that you’d swear they were playing as Artanis instead!

True, but sadly Karax’ highpower turn comes, when many other commanders would have already finished the map twice (slightly dramatizing here).
His full cannon style is still a strong choice for many mutators, though.
