There are a bunch of players who already reached 500 or 600 way over from 90.
While we have no benefits at all except just the “Level”, people don’t feel much to level up after 90.
What if we get chances to get some minor benfits rather than nothing after 90?
Ex) Giving +attack point /HP/DEF to a unit that you want by a very small portion like +0.01 = If it is marine you choose, his attack point will be 6 + 0.01 = 6.01. Put another point to 6.02 and on and on. If this is a single unit based not all units, then even 900 level points don’t break much the game balance I believe.
Co-op already has a problem with the mastery propelling commanders far beyond what the initial missions were balanced for. They absolutely shouldn’t give more broad buffs to commanders, the ascension system purely exists to give players something to do after they hit 90, and the lack of gameplay related rewards is intentional to make it so you don’t have to grind.
See power creep discussed whenever it’s linked to Ascension: Ascension Proposal - Cooperative Benefit
There seems to be a huge hatred behind grinding. Apparently, if the “power up” is given right away to everyone it’s cool, even though it is such a huge boost that it makes coop far easier than it already is. However, if it is even a tiny boost bounded by leveling Ascensions, it seems no matter how little (even just for an experience boost for your ally) it is disliked.
No personal investment, I’m cool with power creep and would enjoy coop just the same without it. However, the perceptions and feedback revolving these just fascinate me.
That would break the game. The .01 per mastery level adds up to being +10 damage to anything you want at level cap. Raynor Marines with level 3 upgrades would be dealing 19 damage at an absurd ROF and would just erase the map in no time flat, even more so with Zerglings.
The only thing grinding levels should reward you with is skins, emoticons etc. This mode was not meant to be ground to level 1000, but rather to 90 so you can be not handicapped when doing mutations. Leveling passed 90 just shows people a vague idea of how much experience the player has for the most part.
On its own it’s a massive amount of effort for very little in return.
Power Set 4 thread is purely hypothetical.
Second thread could be.
Variants thread is just brainstorming new units, nothing to do with power creep.
Your ascension proposal is different - it’s a serious suggestion. The reason ideas that are tantamount to power creep get shot down is because (a) no one wants to grind for gameplay affecting bonuses to ridiculous levels and (b) there needs to power limits to maintain reasonable balance so the game remains fun and challenging to play.
The difference is you pretend your thread to be serious and be taken into account by devs when the others are just for fun and open to new ideas w/o milking a partner.
They are all suggestions, nothing more. I don’t think anyone should expect a single topic posted on the forum would revolutionize coop significantly or be so impactful.
Any topic is a discussion, nothing more than that. So regardless of the intent, it is still the actual conversation that’s important. So your personal opinion on my actual intent shouldn’t take away from productive conversation.
Also, I’m not sure where I’ve wronged you but is it possible to drop the hostility?
Stop playing the victim when you keep looking for fights ‘omni fear’. You linked MY post to your pointless silly post and tell me to stop hostility? https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/520043624935849995/593841293881245709/unknown.png
I’d prefer you to ignore me than keep trying to upset me with more nonsense. I couldn’t care less about u. So just stop it please. Go and post with the other ‘omni’ account if you feel to but please leave me alone thank you.
Edit: and the previous threads were suggestions for fun, your thread was meant to be serious which resulted in massive disapprobal fortunatelly. So no.
Just keep an adult behaviour if you pretend to have a serious debate with me. Otherwise just stop it please I asked you nicely twice or thrice already.
And btw I love debating semantics about commanders, which is not something you like. Just go and look for something that interests you, there are many threads. And stop involving me into your offtopic activity. Bye.
I feel like there’s some misunderstanding as usual… so maybe don’t jump to conclusion so quickly and start to slander me.
The links are taken from URLs that at marked at the latest post per when I put my post up. Yours happen to be the last post of If you were to add a Power Set 4 (as is @midnight per when I put this up).
So I don’t know why I have to dig this deep just to explain myself that I’m not even trying to “bother” you. So really, nobody is “trying to upset (you) with more nonsense”. You seemed to be so self-focused on your own importance that when my link accidentally jumped to your latest post (of a topic that’s not even yours), you flamed up and posted 4 (well I guess 3 + a withdrawn) times to tell me NOT to bother you. Can you, to say the least, appreciate my bewilderment?
Rest assured, I won’t “bother” you and the link from my previous post is reorganized so that you are not seen upon clicking on it. Just WOW!
The buff wasn’t “massive” lol. It wasn’t necessarily minor, but it certainly wasn’t “massive.”
I’m all for a new “power system” being implemented as long as it’s compelling and makes co-op more fun.
A Power Set 4 addition would be cool, but that’s not very interactive, and would quickly be and feel baseline just like the current Mastery system does.
My suggestion was a flexible, interactive talent tree system for each commander, which you can read about here:
