Recommend a New RTS game with modern warfare

Intended to be more realistic than StarCraft, it would be almost like a “real modern warfare simulator”

“BattleCraft: World War III”

Setting: Earth
Era: 2050

Resources:
Food
Supply (Capped at 300, making it unique from Starcraft)
Gold
Lumber (yes, second most valuable resource on Earth)
Stone (for concrete)

So that would be 4 resources plus supply.

If 4 resources plus supply is too complicated, you could do 3 resources plus supply, making it unique from Warcraft and StarCraft, but I’d say 4 resources plus supply, making it unique from Age of Empires 3. The more resources you add, themore realistic the game will be, but the less noob friendly it will be. But say 3 resources is still playable to noobs, so if you determine 4 resources is too hard on noobs, then go with 3 resources to be unque from Warcraft and StarCraft.

In this case, the Islamic nations would have “Followers” mechanic I discussed elsewhere, and the other nations would have normal mechanics.

Russian workers would be Free (but they’d have expensive tech).
Workers for U.S. would cost 100 Gold and 1 Follower (U.S. would have the asymmetric expensive worker, but most powerful army). To balance this slow start, the U.S. starts with a static defense structure adjacent to their main base, giving them a chance vs enemy rushes.
Workers for the U.K. would be 75 Stone (Castles and Deep Bunkers and stuff)
Workers for other nations are 75 Food.
Workers for Islamic nations are 60 Food and 1 follower*
Chinese workers are 75 food, but only half supply. (like Zerglings in SC/SC2).

*All units cost 1 follower for Islamic nations and the U.S.**, in addition to other resources, and you gain 1 follower for every 10 fame you gain. You gain 1 fame per character level of a slain enemy, or 2 fame per character level of a slain veteran enemy.

**The U.S. recruits workers and military by Fame in the real world, so they should have a follower mechanic in the game. Islamic nations recruit by religion and fame, so they should have a follower mechanic. Most other nations have some sort of required 2 years service law, so they don’t need “followers”.

Veterancy:
Veteran units would be if a unit scores a certain about of experience, it gets promoted to a higher veterancy rank.

Tier 1: normal
Tier 2: +5% damage and life (not a huge benefit).
Tier X: +5% damage and life per extra tier.

the game would be designed so that 150 workers is optimum for most nations in a 300 supply game.

Tech Units like Tanks and Helicopters would 2-shot infantry simulating a near miss on the first shot.

Helicopters would 2-shot tanks, simulating a near miss on the first shot.

infantry in bunkers and stuff would still be worth using, because Bunkers would be armed with 50 caliber machine guns and stuf, which are good against Hellibcoptersf, but would only be armed if there’s at least one marine inside.

Stealth Bombers destroy bunkers in 2 hits, simulating a near miss on the first shot.

You would also have Naval Destroyers and Aircraft Carriers with AEGIS Radar guided cruise missiles and real life rail guns with insanely high range, etc.

You could still use the 3 upgrades system from StarCraft and Warcraft 3, that’s pretty good.

Since it’s set slightly in the future, you could still have cloaked units at the end of the tech tree.

There would be a 1 resource upkeep on every Unit which is charged every minute of that Unit’s life, except workers, that would be prohibitive. If Upkeep cannot be paid, you DON’T lose a unit. (I was too harsh on noobs on my other thread for a game suggestion). This is a better Upkeep system than the Warcraft 3 upkeep system, which is so crippling and expensive, where workers count against upkeep.

Think about it, this would be a good game concept.

Diplomacy:

Each nation would have Diplomacy researches to gain large benefits.

The U.S. would get some kind of super-power upgrade for 4/4/4 upgrades on all units.

China’s Diplomacy would allow them 50 extra Supply max. (They would be the “numbers” race).

India’s Diplomacy would be “Oxygen Destroyer” a super-powerful nuclear weapon, as per the Mahabarata.

You balance the game by giving EVERY Unit benefits and penalties to damage vs every other Unit, which is my original SC2 Alpha/Pre-alpha suggestion. This way you can balance every race vs race matchup without effecting other race vs race matchups.

there would be two levels of “Stealth”:

“Stealth”
This unit is invisible until it attacks. It can be detected by a detector or radar ahead of time.

Real Life Stealth Bomber

“Cloaked”
This unit is invisible to all non-detectors, including ordinary radar, and it remains invisible even while attacking.

LIke SC/2 wraith or banshee or ghost.

Ordinary Radar can’t detect cloaked units, but “Quantum Radar” can detect cloaked Units.

There would be neutral hostile units on the map (Terrorists) and you’d gain fame and veterancy for killing the terrorists. To avoid political correctness issues, avid associating terrorism with Islam. But don’t put as much focus on “Creeps” as Warcraft 3 has.
