Recent coop changes - thoughts

Well, i liked the timer things with Scythe and Part and Parcel.
Alarak has now a very good P3 imo.
Dehaka gained really good update.
Artanis… why do you do this to him?
Fenix is ok.
Kerrigan’s buff is good.
Nova has interesting change in P1.
Raynor? nothing special.
Stukov gained unexpected good buffs, but still waiting for automated banshee abilitiy.
Swann? ok.
Tychus? well they returned the power of release lone wolf in a balanced way, liked that.
Zagara… just why do you do this to her masteries? idk.
In my opinion, good coop times.

Pretty much just for P1, I think. Now you can play it without losing 2/3 of your masteries.

As someone who ran roach and baneling mastery for P3 it’s a slight nerf for her.

I’m not so sure, once they fix the Frenzy bug for P3 (where it doesn’t apply to Zagara) I’ll gladly go roach/frenzy P3. Being able to pump up Zag and her HK deathsquad seems like a huge boon.

But 30 extra damage to banelings is really good especially for her baneling barrage. And I was really hoping to see the frenzy fix in the patch notes :frowning:

It hasn’t been discovered soon enough to be found in 5.0.3, imo.

“Fenix is ok” ??? He always was imo.

Did they really change Fenix? I thought Talis got a small buff that’s all.

I’d change Zagara’s masteries further:

Set 1: Roach Drop damage vs. Zergling Evasion
Set 2: Zagara and Queen Life and Energy Regeneration vs Intensified Frenzy
Set 3: Baneling damage vs Zagara Damage

That way you can go full army spec with P1 while at the same time take Roach/Frenzy/Baneling damage masteries as Apex Queen.

Edit: changed it to make it possible to take Zergling evasion + Fenzy and Energy regen + Roach masteries together.

My excitement was ruined when I didn’t see buffs to Abathur P3 or H&H P3 along with the unnecesary H&H P2 cost nerf. But Alarak’s P3 rework was an awesome surprise! I was expecting they just un-nerfed the ships and changed the disadvantage to something else but this is much better. The new Mothership making smaller ships on the go reminds me of the CZAR from Supreme Commander.

Overall the update is great, but I hope they tweak the remaining underpowered prestiges in the near future.

Really good changes. Sure, there are some prestiges that still need a bit of polish but overall the desicions are in a good direction.

Damn, no, Apex doesn’t want to lose Roach Drop + Zagara Energy Regeneration.

I’m sad about losing Frenzy + Evasion because that’s how I played, which I’d still lose in your scheme too!

This was what I said, but it’s ok. Still pretty strong.

They read the forums and provided simple fixes. Raynor P3 could include Starport too but it is still an improvement.

Now P1, P3 and Elyssaen are happy.

Apex already comes with 100% increased energy regen so additional regen is not really needed. I can’t remember running out of energy back on PTR without it. If push comes to shove you still have an option to take Zagara damage instead of baneling damage mastery and save energy by using baneling barrage less.

I like the Alarak p3 buff, now Im actually interested in leveling him, I was gonna leave him for till last cuz all his stuff seemed boring until now.

I tried this out quite extensively, both in normal play and when someone else raised the subject in another thread. The question was, how well does Apex Zagara handle the early game of Scythe of Amon, hero solo and with no ally?

Energy Regeneration + Roach Drop really felt like the strongest combination. I absolutely ran out of energy going for Attack Damage, and even ran out with Energy Regeneration. And bear in mind it’s also Life Regeneration, which is useful. Whenever I tried without it I had to deep tunnel back to Queens to get healed.

With my set you can still take Energy regen + Roach drop. Can’t take Frenzy on top of it but you couldn’t do it before the patch either as it was competing with the Roach mastery. Can still take Evasion + Frenzy something we lost with the new patch. P1 is fixed and P3 isn’t nerfed. It’s a win-win.

I’m pretty sure what they mean to say is now it goes:

30% * # of outlaws = damage boost

So having Tychus, Nux, and Sam would be:

30% * 3 = a 90% attack boost


It’ll start at +30%, with an easy boost to +60%. End game 5 Outlaws would give +150%.

Hooooly cow, man. I just got to pilot the new Shadow of Death, and it’s pretty frickin’ silly.
Ended a game of Trains with 40 Destroyers and the Mommyship and just… Holy cow. The amount of damage you can output is massive. Especially with Empower Me.

Not gonna lie, that’s one of my favourites looking at it now. I’m expecting a cost increase somewhere down the line though.
