Hi all, I thought there was no interaction between commanders until I played as tychus with a mengsk ally. Once I summoned the Odin, Mengsk said “Remember where that power comes from, Mr Findlay”. I was really shocked about this, but never noticed about any interactions, are there more?
Edit: He actually said “Remember who’s holding your collar, Mr. Findlay”
There’s also some mission specific ones as well, such as playing as or with Stetman on Mist Opportunities, Alarak on Chain of Acension, and Vorazun on Scythe of Amon. Granted, those last two are the announcer talking to you, but it’s still something different.
Last time, not long after Blizzard introduced Mengsk as new CO, I play Tychus in a brutal game and paired with this level 6 noob Mengsk, i carried him most of the time and he almost did nothing and selfishly moved away his troops to let attacked wave destroyed my 2nd base while i was killing 2nd bonus mission alone, and out of sudden this quote came out “Remember who’s holding your collar, Mr. Findlay”, i furiously stopped my mission and strait back to him and go destroyed all his base.
IIRC, only Swann hears the other CO thanking him. If you’re the other CO, you don’t hear your CO thanking Swann. How rude!
(Maybe Tychus is an exception to this.)
There are other calldown responses which are not mentioned on that page, like when Artanis activates Shield Overcharge, some CO’s respond with a thanks - but I don’t know if both players hear that. etc.
I’m pretty sure both players hear the “calling up a drone” from Swann and the answer from the other commander if there’s one, normally.
Maybe it can get cut easily by other sounds though.
Artanis Shield Overcharge work the same way, but maybe it’s only the first casting that give an answer, I’m not sure about that.
On the other hand, I’m pretty sure P3 targeted version prevent all voice exchange (25~50% make sense since it may not target the ally)
