Question about Ravager and Adept

Why Blizzard dont wanna make them GtA attacker with some late upgrade? It will broke the game or what? They dont have enough dps, so why not?

Ravagers attacking air would be problematic.

Adepts attacking air wouldn’t cause problems at all because of the short range and how they do low damage vs non-Light units. Adepts should be buffed to attack air, no upgrade required.

No it wouldn’t. All-ins, harassment and vs ground performance is unchanged.

You don’t need an entirely separate upgrades for Adepts to attack air. Adepts would just be able to attack air right out of the gate, like all other ground units that can attack air and ground.

Ravagers already have an air attack, bile.

It would make them too all around.

It wouldn’t because Adepts suck vs non-Light units. Have less range than Stalkers, Shade is unchanged.

The vs ground performance is entirely unchanged

They are cheaper than stalkers. Several important air units have light tag. Hitting air would make them too strong.

Observers, Ravens, Phoenix(lifts them), Mutalisk(completely avoids them), Interceptors, Locusts and Banshees(out ranges them)

Blink Stalkers and Phoenix would still be better answers, just now Adepts would be an option.

Stalkers and Adepts would complement each others weaknesses

Ravagers are already too broken right now, they don’t deserve any buffs if anything they need a nerf to their damage / range

They are cheaper than stalkers and already have more utility than stalker vs ground units. The bonus damage makes them a better strong vs those light units, but even facing non-light they have the benefit of being cheaper. Adepts would be too all around if they could hit air.

They don’t.

Stalkers do 13 damage vs non armored. Adepts do 10 damage vs non light.

Stalkers have 6 range, Adepts have 4 range.

That doesn’t make them better than Stalkers since they have less HP and less range.

They only do 10 damage vs non-light.

Actual gameplay shows otherwise. No one goes pure Adept or pure Stalker.

Adepts have more HP per cost than stalkers do, and they do not have armor tag, so they are tankier vs everything but especially so vs +armor dmg. The range difference doesn’t matter as much since they have shade.

But you can get more of them.

There are plenty of games with adepts.

Adepts have 70/70. Stalkers have 80/80

They are Light and Biological.

Shade isn’t like blink and shading on top of armies overlaps with the Zealot and also causes you to lose the Adepts every single time.

I’m talking about Adepts that can attack air.

You can get more of any unit, that doesn’t mean getting more of them will be the right choice over other options.

Like how Serral lost because he made Ultralisk in ZvZ.

I can’t speak about Ravager but Adept simply have no use for GtA.

Adept is bound by the terrain(not like a stalker) and it’s slow without shade. Those if you give Adept GtA, then adept will be as good vs light air units as marine or hydra is.

If you experiment with units in a match as I did then you will know what I’m talking about.
But for anyone else, the main target of light air units is worker Harassment, not combat those they will move between bases and
Marines and Hydras are unable to follow them.

Anti-Light air, Stalker support, Stalker alternative. So they have plenty of usages for Protoss in some situations or unit comps.

Marines and hydralisk do pretty well vs light air units. Unless the light air units are 1 per 1, the marine and hydralisk win.

The game is also not a monobattle.

Do not forget that the main target of light air units is worker harassment, not combat.

Mutalisk,Banshees, Interceptors, Locust, and Phoenix say otherwise

stalkers have 10/10 more health but they cost like 33% more than adept.

10 stalkers = 800/800 health but cost is more than 13 adepts, which is 910/910 health so adepts are actually tankier.

The units that have +armor tend to be scary than +light and only archon has +biological. No one gets steady targeting to fight adept.

They can’t air, they would be OP if they did.

They would not at all. They still would be Adepts.

Worker harass?. Unchanged

All-ins?. Unchanged

Ground?. Unchanged.

Why are you comparing 10 stalkers vs 13 Adepts?. Compare even numbers, that is how comparisons work.

Banelings do a bonus vs Light

Hellions and Hellbats do a bonus vs light

Colossus do a bonus vs Light

Phoenix do a bonus vs light.

Thors do a bonus vs light(to air only)
