I feel like Cyclones are now performing too well against almost everything Protoss and Zerg have in their arsenals. Is anyone else running into similar problems?
Rumor has it that there is a bug causing Cyclones to attack much faster than they should. I can’t find the exact attack speed of the patch 5.0.11 Cyclone, don’t know if that’s true or not.
Attack cooldown is 0.71 (1 second in editor, 0.71 in the UI on faster speed). I just played a game, and this seems to have remained constant.
Edit: Actually, the Cyclone’s base damage may have been nerfed. I am fairly certain it was supposed to be 18 +2 per upgrade, but it is currently 18 +1 per upgrade.
Normally, if a unit deals more than 16 damage, it upgrades by +2.
Apparently the cyclone has several bugs. PiG showed yesterday on his stream that the cyclone shoots 25 shots over 14 seconds instead of the original 20, meaning it does 500 damage instead of 400. There was another that makes it shoot cloaked units even after you cloak it, which should have broken the lock-on (not sure if it is one shot or all shots after cloaking).
this whole patch is bugged. they really messed up. they have been low key fixing the problems over the last few days like, maps and certain other things like the hydra ability but they messed up so much now the whole game is broke.

It’s true. There’s actually two bugs effecting cyclones currently.
One of them increases the damage output by about 20%, the other has to do with the lockon filters on what it can and can’t continue to target, making micro against the lock-on very problematic, but it also means that they have a tendency to lock onto - or remain locked onto - things they can’t actually physically damage/kill, such as a unit in a warp prism - though I’ve seen them also accidentally target neutral structures such as destructible rocks over units they can target too.
