How badly do you need to be hurt to do a gateway-blocked cannon rush, go void rays into killing bases and recalling, while typing sh** all game, then lose and type sh** and leave.
You’d think there would be tons of people who just pick it cause they want to win but it happens to be massively sadistic people.
“Psychology of protoss players”
“I have more fun as toss, that’s why I play toss.”
(They have more fun because the in game problems are smaller, this reduces frustration, and increases win-rate. There is a reason why the most competitive [aka hardest] regions of the ladder [and pro play] are dominated by toss, and that reason is: about 20% of protoss gms/pros wouldn’t be able to tolerate the difficulty of the game without the advantages of eztoss)
(Every advantage toss has doubles the distance between toss and terran/zerg in terms of ease of use. If a toss switched to zerg, he’d go from +advantage to -advantage which is equivalent to advantage*2. This is the fundamental reason a 150 mmr advantage causes protoss to dominate higher leagues. The lowest skilled players in those leagues are the most sensitive to small mmr advantages and so they must pick protoss or be demoted from grandmaster [or retire from pro play].)
(Knowing they are advantaged, knowing they picked toss because it’s advantaged, they ardently defend their position on the internet because they know they will get fired from their professional esports job if they lose 300 mmr. And so they engage in mass gaslighting campaigns on dozens of alt accounts to skew public perception)
(Because of the unethical nature of their behavior, selecting toss, defending imbalance, gaslighting the community, they are terrified of the possibility of being caught, which causes them to spiral deeper into the delusion. They fully commit to the idea that protoss is truly the weakest race, and they do this in order to justify their immoral behavior under an “ends justify the means” type of attitude)
(Other protoss are sucked into the delusion and they begin feeding off one another. In their righteous fury, they harass and report anyone who contradicts the delusion)
(Over time, only protoss whiners are left on social media. This skews designer perception of the community’s wants and desires. Balance patches begin to reflect the delusion, and protoss starts to dominate the competitive scene [gm / pro play]. Strategic diversity plummets as only the strongest strategies are capable of overcoming the balance advantage of eztoss, leading to stale game play on the ladder and repetitive esports content. )
(The balance advantage of toss must be whittled down over time using out of game factors like multitasking skill, leading to long games where the protoss makes a stream of never ending mistakes that converge on an inevitable, and very obvious, loss in the late game. This loss can be seen from the 5 minute mark yet takes 30 minutes of repetitive and predictable gameplay to finally conclude. The dullness of esports has peaked. Esports engagement starts to go down. )
(Protoss domination has now lasted 6 years. Any non-protoss is exhausted with the state of the game. Pro players begin retiring or moving to other games. Streamers move to league. Youtubers start producing 2v2 content. Community engagement plummets to an all time low. Esports profitability is at an all time low. )
(SC2 is officially dead.)
(“SC2 died because they refused to buff protoss!! REEEEeEeeeEeeEEeeEEeEEe!”)
TLDR
Protoss whiners knew they were advantaged but refused to accept it because it contradicted the will of their ego. They gaslit the community into believing protoss needed buffs, which caused the game design to minimize variability, unpredictability, and excitement; maximized dullness and repetition. The game’s popularity fell off a cliff because nobody is interested in a boring game.
How to fix? Tell pro players to learn to play, tell them it’s a skill issue, tell them balance advantages mean nothing compared to the skill and willpower of a true champion like Serral or Clem, tell them you are going to maximize the diversity of the game and that if they don’t like it they can cry a river, and then do exactly that: make the game crazy and unpredictable, make it exciting, make it fresh, make it fun and make it popular again.
Immortals have twice the trading efficiency of lurkers, yet they whine about lurkers. As long as game designers listen to this nonsense, sc2 is doomed. Their perception of balance is a polar opposite inversion of reality, and if you cater the design to them you will bake imbalance into the game which will increase player frustration and degrade the authenticity of esports.

You read that right, ladies and gents, the top 20 worldwide is 80% protoss.
“Trust us, lurkers are OP and need nerfs!”. It’s legit SC2’s own version of the flat-earth society.
