Psionic shockwave/storm/surge needs nerf

High templars/Archons need a massive nerf.

Zerg vs. Toss is ridiculous when it comes to Psionic storm/shockwave/whatever. Playing with 150 apm working my butt off with 5+ bases, Toss merely clicking his way to the win without even trying on 2 or 3 bases. No matter how many zerg units I throw at a mass of stalkers with some archons/templars, and a few carriers, nothing breaks through. Had a mass of hydras and infestors, and had enough time to try and stop the force with 2 waves of hydras and infestors and they all died. The storm does way too much damage. The AOE is too large and the damage is too great. Lost like 100 units in a few seconds, you don’t even have time to move your units out of storm. Even if you manage to save a few and get out of storm range, they are too weak and instantly die when re-engaging and theres not time for repositioning when toss is pushing onto you.

And even if the archons/templars are out of energy, you can’t even target them, they are too tanky. Like by the time I finally kill 1 archon/templar, my entire army is dead. Have the game creators even tried to target these units as zerg? It takes like 5+ seconds to even kill 1 of these tanky toss units.

Seriously these units are way too tanky and the AOE vs. biological (which is all freaking zerg units) is too great. Zerg needs a massive buff, fungal needs way more damage vs. toss units. And dont say just dont let toss get to that point, because sometimes it’s not feasible to rush toss, or sometimes i want to play a longer game than 4 mins and try to actually learn something and have a good game. And sometimes toss fortifies and on some maps that means he has a safe 2 or 3 bases that he can access.

And don’t even get me started again on widow mines. Do game creators ever play as zerg? I’m just wondering, because I feel like I’m playing with a massive handicap trying to win as zerg. Sometimes I can win, but sometimes these Toss unit comps are unbeatable, even if I throw 2 or 3 waves at their army. Eventually I run out of larvae, even with excessive hatcheries, and then its gg. Theres been games where I have like 7 bases and toss has 3 bases and I can’t stop the toss.

It would be nice to see more use of Colossi earlier in the game, I almost never see Colossi used anymore. Sometimes I really do miss WOL. Things were simpler and more balanced. Everything is too fast now, drones on autopilot to mineral field, starting with 12 workers, etc. It’s like 10x harder now to play as Zerg. You know there’s balance issues when 130+ apm loses to 40 apm terran or toss.

You made the unfortunate error of not going Roaches. It’s sad. Hydras are squishy.

You need to go ling roach ravager queen. It’s worth it.

Archons dont have Energy and high temps are squishy.

You Just generate a Ton of apm as zerg. Doesnt mean anything tho. Holding down z Button to build 50 lings and Morphing them to banes is hardly difficult but generates a Lot of apm

Oh No you dont want to. Storms actually have a huge Investment in time and ressources. And If you Miss you die. Old wol colossi are good vs everything on ground and are a move as hell. Something that cant be Said about archons and hts.

I can tell this is the type of guy to throw his army at the opponent without microing it and wondering why it died to a bunch of storms

It would be nice not to have to rely on ravagers. I find using them unnatural compared to the other spell casters. The ravagers bunch up and sometimes don’t cast appropriately, or the one that actually casts is out of range and misses the shot because he has to talk within range but then it’s too late. Makes you have to rely on spamming the ability with all of them, and then not having it when you need it most.

I beg to differ. My apm is pretty high and I’m not artifically inflating it like some people do spamming pointless stuff early game. The units he had were defintiely not squishy.

Sorry that I couldnt reply in one post, it used to be more straight forward but I’m not seeing the details in my reply that I used to see. I’ll figure it out later.

I didnt say you Spam. I said zerg gives you much Higher apm naturally. Every Player has more apm when Picking zerg. That gets even crazier on Higher Level with rapidfire since abilities Like bile can be spammed non Stop.

High templar is squishy. 40 shield 40 health and light with No Armor. Tho archons arent squishy they can be target fired very easily.

Thats btw exactly how it feels Like with storm.

I can understand that its frustrating to lose against storm but at least it Takes more Skill to actually build the unit Research the ability and Cast it. Zerg midgame Army has No spellcasters and doesnt require Special Micro. You can build lurkers to have Splash damage too and they are much much much Stronger than storm since they have aoe Auto Attack and the enemy needs detection to kill the lurkers when they are burrowed.
