Psionic Power Ranking

Psionic Power has always been a thing among Protoss, Zerg and Terran. Needless to say, Terran (pre-zerg enhancement) are all effectively lower than the rest.

Which brings to the question, what do you guys think are the rankings of psionic power for the different types of units and characters shown? My personal impression is as such:

  1. Ulrezaj
  2. Any Archon/Dark Archon
  3. PQoB Kerrigan
  4. Rohana (Mastery of the Khala may also mean mastery over all of Protoss High Templar Psionic Prowess)
  5. Alarak (he makes the zerglings which swarmed Artanis looked like chumps, and he impressed Vorazun by destroying the power structure)
  6. Zeratul (MY LIFE… FOR AIUR)
  7. Vorazun

As for the Hybrids though, I don’t know where to place them. Should they be higher than PQoB Kerrigan, since a single Hybrid Dominator was almost destroying her? What about Archons? How would Hybrids compare to Archons in psionic strength?

Let me know your thoughts on their psionic power scales. I’m not familiar with other sources but I would be very interested if there are some interesting explanations regarding psionic power, or the rankings of characters there.

Ulrezaj doesn’t exist. Kappa.

How’s he not exist? :stuck_out_tongue:

Devs don’t really acknowledge his existence.

I mean there was the dark archon quote about him. Which in itself is impressive since he’s trapped in a crystal.

That’s like UED being mentioned when you click on Spartan Company.

I’ll take what I can get. The devs are truly generous.

But it’s sad that I get more excited about references to plot lines that were actually cool instead of the schlock that was the main storyline.

It also sucks that they don’t really go into full detail about the powers and lore in the timeline - I don’t even know much of psionic power despite having played the entire campaign.

Something seriously doesn’t line up here.

Lmao, how did that get in there? I fixed it, I probably meant to have an extra zero there.

Kerrigan was in a bad shape in that particular moment. She has probably been killing numerous hybrid prior and exhausted. She kind of one shot it after a bit of a breather.

I think Primal Queen of Blade should be higher than Archon. Some of her psionic ability is way more impressive.

Also, even if Rohana can use and master all Khalai technique that doen’t mean she is strong in term of raw strength. I think she is one of those who is weak, but skill.

I was referring to the mission before fighting Narud - the Hybrid Dominator would have killed her if you did not send an army to kill them first

That’s one is more of an exception than the norm. Only Hybrid specific to that lab is capable of such ability. And if you get Kerrigan there. She can kill it singlehandedly with some micro.

Needs citation. It’s possible every Hybrid dominator can do it, but they choose not to make a timer out of it for each mission.

Gameplay doesn’t matter in lore discussions.

Until it does. Kerrigan burrow discussion flashbacks

To a degree. If an ability is in the game then you could potentially argue it exists. If you have to micro your unit for your argument to make sense then that’s a stretch.

She can burrow in canon right ? :stuck_out_tongue:

For me, it’s flashbacks to the “Arthas couldn’t have beaten Illidian because he’s a Death Knight and Death Knight’s blow compared to Demon Hunters” thread from the original Warcraft III forums back in 2003.

Because Multiplayer balance clearly has an affect on lore.

And also, a few months later everyone realized how strong the Death Knight was and started screaming for NERFs!
