Proxy Robo is still a problem

my PvP has a 78% win rate, and all of my PvPs are usually me just going Proxy Robo (Because I don’t want to deal with late game PvP, which just deals brain damage to both player).
Expanding Protoss player really stand little to no chance at all in my rank of high D3.
I know it’s not supposed to be balanced at my level, but somethings are just too dumb to be left alone, and Proxy Robo is one of them. This shouldn’t work this well.

Hmm maybe its still hard, but I do remeber defending it , even before battery overcharge.Ofc question is how well were they executed…Im D2, recently promoted from D3

In my case the key is getting that first pylon scout, if you see no expand and lack of structures on the other side, just slap shield battery and chrono the immortal +warp gate on your side, cut probes onces you got 4-6 on natural, just for that income advantage. Then defend , maybe you will need to pull probes against the first-second wave, and now its easier with the battery overcharge. Remember to build more gatways as soon as you can afford and evetually the defence will get eaiser and easier as your economy will pay off and at some point you should able to crush them. IF its succesful ofc, i still did die a lot to proxy robo lol, tough with the above i did defend a good many times too.

Another experiment i did was a a zealot charge rush against proxy, similar thing, defend with shield batteries until charge gets done, just warping more zealots, then once charge finishes you crush the stalkers and immortals. I stoped doing that tough becasue i got owned by a DT rush instead of the expected robo, so now i stick to robo based defense for the observer capability

I got a natural repulsion to doing proxies myself, I like the longer game. Timing attacks yes for sure, but i dont do proxies .

Oh…That’s Amazing. I never get it on 4800-5300 MMR.

Proxy robo is very holdable even pre battery overcharge. heck one void ray on the field and one battery and it’s over. I think the threat of the proxy robo was overly dominating PVP and really was restricting too much the gamplay options (try something new and you just die to a proxy robo) but the actual strat itself was very holdable with good scouting.

I think its holdable but i dont know about that void ray strat, they usually come with a lot of stalkers beside the immortals.

What firestrom is say is true:

The first push happen when there’s 4 stalker and 1 Immortal. A single void ray can’t hold it. Even then, that’s a huge tech investment, and I doubt you can actually go expand with stargate opener.

With opening stargate, your tech option is really limited in one base, you can’t easily go to twilight or robo, because all stargate unit cost a lot of gas.

As the once amazing person once said, in PvP, the only thing that beats mass Immortals is more Immortals.

Is it hitting before charge? cuz obviously charge shuts it down

Otherwise even 1 VR is going to be money or even just mass phoenix

I mean, 4 stalker 1 Immo push happen at 3:45 for me, and I’m in diamond 3. People probably do it a bit faster.
So, yes, that’s before charge

Yeah I figured. For whatever reason I don’t seem to see it much but honestly I’d rally my first zealot and stalker to the pylon or even if Im late and an immortal eventually gets out, just keep flooding units until its dead. Or immediately build a stargate. Cant think of any better options

Late game PvP is pretty fair… I need your brain man. Early game PvP is the most chaotic, mind numbing, illogical matchup in SC2. I can’t wrap my head around the amount of times people have blind countered me or sent units straight to my proxies.

It sounds like you know how to execute this build really well though. I’m curious about your overall winrate. Your PvP skills could be much higher than where you are now while your PvZ and PvT skills are weaker.

A good counter is proxy gates. Rush Zelots they are toast.

Well, the build is pretty easily done, just don’t forget your 2nd and 3rd pylon and you can definitely pull it off.

I also wall off my main with 2 gateway and 1 pylon, so that I don’t need to focus on my main where adepts come in to my base. If they open stargate into oracle, it will definitely do damage, but… opening stargate against proxy robo I think is definitely a build order loss, especially if they are proxied.

PvP is my best match up, PvT is second (60%), and PvZ is my worst (30%), that’s probably why I’m stuck at dia 3.

Now, I think you meant Proxy Robo, and, while that might be true, you need to considering one thing:
A proxy robo build looks almost identical to opening 2 stalkers which give almost no info at all to what you are doing. Proxy pylon is a very normal thing to do in PvP just to scare people, and it always seems normal these days. That’s even saying that if when the opponent actually noticed the “2nd” pylon is very late. I have seen so many people actually thinking I’m forgetting my 2nd pylon, while in actuality, it was already my 3rd pylon.

No I meant do proxy gates against proxy robo. Flower build. But yes I agree its hard to scout if oppon is going proxy robo.
