Protoss won Netease tournament with 1st place prize of $7,655 USD

So Trap won the Netease tournament with a 1st place prize of $7,655 USD: https://liquipedia.net/starcraft2/Netease_Esports_X_Tournaments/2020/Winter

To put the $7,655 USD into perspective for 1st place for Netease, that is a higher prize for 1st place than the $6000 for 1st place in TSL 6 and the $6000 for 1st place ASUS ROG.

So Protoss can win the elite tournaments, especially because Protoss is so OP now.

Yeah but protoss not wining tournaments and this make him up, or not op, is logical fallacy. As how many top tier protoss pros we have on EU     1!!! That’s right showtime (showtime would like A/S) and he can’t consistently beat Serral, Clem and Reynor!

In GSL parting? Parting is like A/S tier, still it is pretty Tough, when you have Maru, Ty, Inno and Byun! Stats is more like A tier or something. So you have only 2 Protosses in GSL, which are high tier… And trap, but still! Still no top tier toses… And there are players like Dark and Rogue, tos bad against zerg on top level! Especially on SH abuse maps…

Also toses weren’t wining is past, because PvZ was most imblaced match in the game, thanks to bane/ravager/sh. Only recently tos is more playable against zerg, but on top level zerg is still favored against tos!

NetEase (Who?), or GSL?

Cool story bro. Nice cherry picking.

Seems like you know nothing about the SC2 pro scene. Maybe you shouldn’t comment about the SC2 pro scene if you don’t know anything about it.

For the record, since you know nothing about the SC2 pro scene, here is the Teamliquid post about the Netease tournament that was posted by the Teamliquid staff: https://tl.net/forum/starcraft-2/566551-trap-wins-netease-esports-x-winter

Fortunately, unlike you, the Teamliquid staff do know about the SC2 pro scene and this was a significant tournament so the Teamliquid staff made a custom thread about Trap’s win.

Wow 7000 dollars. Still not a GSL though. Yes I know nothing about the pro scene since I don’t check tl every half hour like yourself.

Kungfu cup? I do like kungfu cup.

Don’t feed the trolls. Those clowns are ready to bring as an argument for Protoss-OP BS the Zungu-Dingu Cup that as Prize-Pool have glass-beads and 2 bananas.
How pathetic.
Not impressed. Next.

As Batz said, region lock tournaments data does not count.

Good to see trap doesn’t choke every tournament.

Netease isn’t an elite tournament.

the finals were Bo5, and it was online.

Elite tournaments are Code S, IEM - not a major online tournament with Bo5 finals

Wrong. Teamliquid admins only make a custom post for winners of tournaments that are significant. The Teamliquid admins won’t make a post for a tournament that they deem to be insignificant. They considered this tournament significant enough to make a post about Trap’s win: https://tl.net/forum/starcraft-2/566551-trap-wins-netease-esports-x-winter

It’s not a GSL. 20 C

Btw you are diamond highest lol, probably stuck in bronze and i guess you know everything best, right? https://www.rankedftw.com/search/?offset=0&name=BabaYaga

Who cares what TL does rofl.

Fact of the matter is that it was an online tournament with a Bo5 finals. The only thing noteworthy is the prize.

Mid tier tournament with the best of the best protoss, and only a handful of the elite terrans/zerg. No maru/TY or Serral/Reynor.

The only ones that protoss can win. Sad.

Serral and Reynor are pretty much never in the tournaments in Korea, aside from GSL vs the World (Reynor was only in 1 GSL ever, Serral has never attended a single GSL).

But but but Protoss hasn’t won gsl!

Doesn’t matter. Dark and Rogue both spam GSL wins for Zerg. No one does for protoss.

It’s just serral…
