Protoss is broken and People play it do to Broken things

Its not about your attachment to the idea that protoss as an aesthetic in battle. its that the race design is so broken in so many ways that when people who understand starcraft want to be a little C***Y they can easily choose protoss to display it.
It doesn’t matter who enjoys Protoss at the heart. in fact I feel bad for them the most. their race is being held hostage unconsciously, to the worst design, that in turn attracts the worst kind of people.

Yeah as soon as they either cannon/zelot or proxy void/battery/tempest or they go stright to sky toss and start to win, they start to write some of the most toxic and annoying stuff.

After they win you can see Toss apm usually 37-50 apm up to Diamond. It is laughable.

In late game PvZ, a critical amount of Lurkers practically forces Protoss to mass Void Rays. I do not like playing mass Void Rays. What’s more frustrating is that mixing in tempests to deal with Brood Lords is a bad investment vs Zerg.

I don’t think the matchup is broken or imbalanced but rather just uninteresting. Part of the problem is the basic change to start with 12 workers in LOTV which killed a lot of early game tension, gambling, and meta-gaming. It was very dynamic having to account for Pool timings that were viable at 6/8/9/12 drones.

To fix Protoss redesign tech path it’s joke that extra buildings for no real reason. They get air upgrades.

Only unit I say needs change is zealot and just cut everything in half from health and damage and cost and pop. I would add ability that when shield brakes they teleport back to closest nexus.

I would put core Protoss abilities with air abilities.

I remove twilight councel.

I would also add nexus produce energy and pylon only extends it until warp has been research.

20 post troll account probably :D, why so toxic man?

See zealot very strong main reason creation of helbat.

All nerf does slow down rate zealots produce and the ability to recall wounded zealots.
This allow zealots build up over time.

Main problem Protoss it funnels them into air and ability blink and charge push behind another tech building.

Then their spell caster behind another tech yet ghost can be unlock after barrics

While mech certainly needs Hellbats against Zealots, that is not the only reason why they were created.

The pathing changes from SC1 to SC2 basically required Mech to have a meat-shield unit, and due to those same pathing changes, the health of a Vulture/Hellion is far too low for the role. This role would still need to be filled even if Zealots were weaker.

The other problem was the design of the Hellion. Hellions can fight in some instances, but their line splash and mobility mean that their damage has to be balanced first and foremost for their ability to roast workers in early-game harassment. Unfortunately, this prevents Hellions from being balanced with the damage output they would need to be effective combat units. They “rarely” function well in that role.

The Hellbat morph fills both of those gaps. The attack changes enable Hellbats to be balanced for combat first and foremost, and the drastic reduction in speed (with a slight morph delay to prevent abuse) allows them to be balanced as a front-line meat-shield.
