Protoss is dominating GSL, zerg is nowhere to be seen.
When did all the protoss players get so incredibly good – or what is going on?

GSL stands for ‘global starcraft league’ the top-tier tournament in south Korea; it is not Dreamhack.
I would checkout GSL if you’ve never seen it before (sounds like you haven’t)!

Most recent GSL season was two months ago and had a heavy T representation. You are probably referring to Supertournament,which is a tournament with a different format than the regular GSL season.
Super tournament favors protoss style, and about Z, there are not a lot of top Z right now, see Aligulac ratings for KR.

In the top 10, 6T,2P,2Z, currently the top KR player is Trap, the one who won the last two supertournaments in the last month.
Trap is the only one who became really good this year

See his ratings and compare them to other top protoss players, Trap is the only one who increased it a lot.
If you see Z players, they are few at the top and the only rising Z is Solar, Rogue’s mmr is plummeting hard (every matchup goes down) and Dark is more or less stabilized near the top but lost his touch in zvt.

ZvT is my favorite matchup, I haven’t played sC2 in over a year but I still watch every game and I HaTE PVP, so boring!!

Wanna discuss terran outside korea in premier tournaments since release?
8 victories by non korean terrans in premiers, 5 of those in the beta and last win 2016 with reaper abuse + tankivacs (i think tankivacs was still in the game).

Last win was Clem’s win two months ago, a legit win with no tricks, it was a pretty important victory at a fairly big and long tournament.

We finally got another foreign terran win.
I cant wait for the next win in 4 years, will be dope.
But for real, foreign terrans have and are still lagging behind protoss and zerg since sc2 launch in prems outside korea and it should be concerning.
Clem is good, if he keeps his level I think he can win some other tournament in the near future.
If that might be true in the case of the Zerg side (Serral/Reynor) that does not hold water on the Protoss side.
Protoss has their quota of premiers in the NA premier, it’s basically a 3 player tournament because the best players there are Neeb,Astrea, Scarlett. I checked liquipedia and since 2017 it’s the only premier a foreigner P is winning.
You are right. I tend to merge NA and EU and the best 3 Protossers are Neeb, Showtime Astrea.

Theres plenty of non korean zergs winning premier tournaments after the beta so no non korean zergs have not been performing as badly as non korean terrans in premiers not even close.
