Proposal on improving particular Commander Prestiges

Maybe I just have to refine my play before judging Fenix P1 (I like his P2).

I swap Artanis P1 out completely for a prestige that lets you control Artanis on the battlefield, with abilities of the campaign.

In exchange Spear of Adun does not have energy and thus energy cost abilities Shield Overcharge, and Orbital Strike are disabled. Guardian Shell, Solar Bombardment and the standard version of deploy power field are not disabled.

I don’t know what Vorazum prestige I’d swap but same concept I’d add a Vorazum hero unit in exchange black hole, and shadow guard are disabled .

I haven’t played P1 Artanis that much but it seems that it is focused on Zealot/Templars primarily (bit disappointed when they did not make Disintegration to stack).

I would love to play as Artanis though, I just wonder how the devs will implement it.

I agree many of them seem to be a net negative as is. Need to buff them. Have to grind out game at low level to earn this should actually make them helpful.

This proposal is well thought out. Good job, but I would make the following changes.

Zeus is a good idea but it is too powerful.

Militarize Hercules (put cannons on it so it’ll shoot air and ground) and put more armor / hp on it. Maybe include an AOE stun ability, good for transporting to places crowded with enemies. Maybe limit it to 5 or so. Making it 1200 hp and being able to attack is like having 3 semi-Hyperions all the time.

The disadvantage: increase cost for making Hercules.

You should require vision to transport units if not you can clear the map early in the game (like Tyscus lone wolf).

Also what I would add to Nova’s third prestige is you should be able to detonate your sabotage drone anytime once you deploy it.

Damage output is kept minimal, maybe I can get rid of small splash. Setting 850 HP would be balanced.
I still think they should be restricted to 3, they are tough and immuned to stun/slow/abduct that is far more than Hercules Dropship can ask.

That idea is already implemented to my Nova’s Prestige 2: Tactical Dispatcher proposal.

I suppose they can travel only in already explored areas.
Sabotage Drone is fine as it is.

This was how I implemented Nova in my extension mod, Versus Evolved. I put the gear selection menu on the stasis shell, so you can only change her equipment while she’s being revived.

It would be really great to have all her equipment in co-op, but just ensuring the presence of some of the more iconic pieces (like jetpack suit and monomolecular blade) would have been enough. Unfortunately, they didn’t do that, even though they had ample opportunity, and it would have been as simple as including some gear adjustments with each prestige. (They even changed up Kerrigan’s abilities and character model for Desolate Queen! I get the impression that some of these prestiges, such as Desolate Queen and Broodbrother, had more time, effort, and thought devoted to them than others. With some commanders, like Swann and Nova, it really shows.)

I came up with an alternate version of Nova’s P1 that exchanges Marines for Reapers (with Spider Mines), and replaces her blink suit with the jetpack suit (plus Stim Infusion). I think the inclusion of a Reaper theme is well suited to the title “Soldier of Fortune”, and goes well with the infantry build theme.

Other than other prestige I tweaked in the OP, other prestige seems to be fine and others need simple tweaking to make it right (Vorazun’s Keepers of Shadows is OK, just decrease Shadow guard energy cost and render combat units cloaked would make it fine).

Nothing too big, just have Vorazun’s Dark Pylon Cloaking effect to persist for 5 seconds after leaving (8 seconds with mastery).

Sorry for the late reply, I think Arbiter duration is OK too.
While the utility time is restricted it is still a very powerful tool, IMO it is the matter of skill rather than inefficient ability like Swann’s P1.

Going back to my take on Fenix P1. Upon further play I don’t think the Fenix preator armor, and solarite dragoon suits need a buff in their duration now, but I still feel 20 second duration is too short for the cybros arbirtor.

Arbitor duration should be 30 or 40 seconds. Just his arbitor suit, not the others.

While it does nicely as a defensive prestige, it lacks pushing power IMO.

I gave 2 additional advantages

  1. Given additional +25% build time (60% faster build on towers)
  2. +3 range on SCV build/repair

I love what they did with prestige. Especially for karax. He really needed it.

That being said they need to have a look at quite a few of them that only look good in theory but are impractical in actual missions. In the way that the cost is too high to make sense since most missions are far too short for something with long ramp up times to have a meaningful effect(p3 Raynor, p2 Artanis, p2 Kerri, p2 H+H, p3 dehaka, a couple others.) Its as if one person designed the commanders and wasn’t even consulted fit in the changes in a practical way. Bear in mind most missions in co op are scarcely 10 minutes long so these types of things only come into play in maybe one or two fights at the end. Its really just some small adjustments that could be made they don’t need to redesign the whole thing. Co op is already too awesome to need redesigned. Mostly i still just feel we would benefit most from getting some new missions. 18 commanders and only 15 missions (Mutators don’t count as new missions).

Can you clarifiy? I don’t get what you are saying because you are implying that missions are too short of a duration for my revamp proposal to come to fruition.

I don’t follow, are you saying prestiges come to effect in 10 minutes in or literally saying that most Co-op missions are 10 minutes long? Their time is at 20 minutes long on average.

I gave Artanis 2 Benefits.

  1. Artanis have 750 Shields
  2. Artanis constantly regens 8 shields/2 life per sec

Dear @Devs, please make this happen. We all want to see Artanis and play as him. If you cannot implement this into the prestige, please make another prestige and include Artanis.
