Prestidge zeratuls leave at begging of game

ive played 3 games of alarak on hard today and each time there were a high level/ prestige zeratul that left at the begging of the game. its been a while since ive been on co-op missions but is this common? like, i feel like someone is getting something out of if, do they think they are carrying me by let me control an extra high level co-op commander/hero, or is this a just people leaving at the begging to troll?

Bad luck. Happens once in a while.

Hard to say. I don’t play Hard at all, so the general environment is unfamiliar to me. I think regardless, I’d just chop it all on bad luck and let it be.

On the one hand, if this happened 3 times in a row and you felt you can’t solo the map from there, then it’s not that much time wasted. And on the other hand, if you could (and did) solo the map after they each left, then all the more fun for you, in my humble opinion.

There are some real bad players who feel like they are too cool for anyone, they feel strongly about carrying. I can tell you based on my experience, people who are actually good could not care less about their ally’s level/prestige/mastery. And in fact, it’s these self-absorbed individuals who over-estimate their own skills. Then when the game inevitably fall short (due to their lack of skill to solo maps), they blame their ally for not handling their own.

While the above may be true to an extend (as it is coop after all), after you’ve played enough games and mastered all the commanders, you’ll notice coop doesn’t need a partner. And that’s just a natural evolution of coop skills over time (for those who put in the effort to improve that is). So on the forum, you’ll forever see people whine about how they had x, y, z bad game with a, b, c partner.

This age old story repeats itself onto everyone until you (yourself) decide to improve enough that it doesn’t happen to you… at least not on Brutal.

Either the map they don’t like or they played with you before and don’t want to do that again.

This is weird because I used to play a lot of Hard, it’s probably the map, Dead on Night, Cardle of Death and Scythe of Amon are the maps that you can see someone leave.

Can’t really be not enjoying to play with you because Hard difficulty there’s a lot of low lv players, trying to get a high ascension match on Hard is actually pretty rare, mostly just testing meme builds and stuff.

I play on Hard a ton, and I’m actually leveling up my P3 Alarak  .

However, I don’t have my partners leave usually. Granted, I play on Void Thrashing most of the time, to get the bonus “First Win Of The Day”.

When people are leaving at the start of the map frequently, I’d suggest asking on a discord co-op server, or the co-op chat in-game for a match.

I actually find the hard player base more consistent than the brutal player base. I find hard is full of players that know how to play the game but aren’t total wizards either . There’s more weaker players trying to get carried on brutal than get carried on hard.

Now there are games where brutal and hard get cross matched, and you get this Hard+ sort of difficulty . Some players maybe get frustrated when they que for brutal and get matched with hard mode player.

One game I was playing Swann who I am not the best with on hard, and my ally was offended that I would play on Hard being over level 90, and left . He said I must be bad for doing that (and with Swann I’m definitely not great).

Anyway maybe someone quit because they qued for brutal and saw you qued for Hard.

That’s not my experience on EU.

On EU my winrate in hard is lower than in brutal. Granted I play hard only with low level commanders and commanders I struggle with and have a much smaller dataset (so not a great measure) but still.

EU people seem to only know two difficulties, hard or brutal so you’ll find plenty launching hard while they would probably struggle on normal (and clearly did not do much in hard).

Three in a row is extremely unlucky. I had people insta quit on me mostly when I did brutal with low level commander. Maybe they thought you had chosen brutal as well? It could also be the map (some very bad and despicable and shameful and wrong and … people insta quit on Craddle of Death) . Unless it was the same guy three times in a row who really did not want to play with you and you were just queuing at the same time.

I wanted to say no, then I realized players playing Normal instead of Casual don’t “know” Normal difficulty; they probably just don’t know there’s a difficulty option at all :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
