i just fought vs a guy that uses mouse hack, when he activated it when hes already losing my mouse cursor suddenly jumps randomly in my screen every 3-5 secs, making targeting things insanely enraging…like when ur ordering an scv to make a cc in the middle of mineral field then after i quit my mouse is suddenly back to normal again jesus christ no wonder this game is dead

That sounds like your mouse just broke to me. Any sort of “mouse hack” would require remotely accessing your computer, and thats… frankly not really feasible through the Starcraft client alone.

no i just said after quitting my mouse is perfectly ok now…and plus the moment he lost to our 1st clash while my libs are killing his drones then the hack suddenly started
EDIT hes not controlling the mouse if thats what u meant remotely accessing, hes just making it jump to random places in my screen
theres no meaningful difference here. Your mouse position is all on your local computer, he has no way of affecting it unless he asked you to download a program onto your PC at the start of the match or something. What you are accusing him of is literally impossible.

I would also like to know where this issue came from. When I update every part of my pc the issue finally disappeared. You can run scII safe with “overkill” specs.
Someone must have hacked my 5euro and 11 year old microsoft membrane keyboard,sometimes my marines does not get stimmed or doesn’t attack and just move.

it’s people like you who thankfully keep me employed as an IT professional with the absolute WTF concerns/issues. HACKING YOUR CURSOR/MOUSE… ok buddy, if someone was able to hack you and the only thing they were concerned with was your mouse, either they’re a sociopath with a horribly low IQ, or they your mouse’s manufacturer and signaling you to buy a new mouse.

Games been infested with hacks since the birth of the game. Look up " BossLand vs Blizzard "
That being said, the game dying has nothing to do with cheating, it’s the lack of attention other game types received IE Archon GM instead of team game GM.
Hacks will never prevent people from the game ( maybe a very small percentage ) and if you’ve been playing Blizzard games for 20 years then you would know it’s a business model and they WANT ppl to hack so they can sue the creators of the cheats for millions of dollars.
Remember kids, never take legal advice from some rando on the internet, or you might end up like this.
Even when you do sue the creators “for millions of dollars”, they never have millions to pay. Very frequently, you’ll lose more money from the legal fees than you would ever get in damages from these people. Thats why big businesses like to settle out of court where they can. Lawyers are expensive.

Thats one case that happened, and Bossland was operating as an actual business entity illegally selling products which allowed them to sue. And i dont believe the amount of money was ever formally disclosed.
Most hacks are made by some dude in a basement and arent sold nearly so formally or consistently, which makes proving legal wrongdoing much harder.
Hacks aren’t commercialized anymore due to things like Valiant Chaos and Glider, and BossLand vs Blizzard was the last time we saw it.
