This game had already existed for a long time and I still find it astounding as to how is it even remotely possible that some players still fail to understand the basics of a coop game, especially prestiged players.
I was in an oblivion express map with a p1/p3 tychus(forgot which prestige) who did almost nothing but attacking enemy bases and ignoring the trains. First 3 trains, he did attack them with me but on the 4th wave where its 2 simultaneous trains, he completely ignored the main objective and I had to fend off the 2 trains by myself. I had to spam ping the bottom train for him to finally respond.
My base is top his is bottom.
That sets off a red flag about him. Fast forward to another 2 train wave right before they spawn, an enemy attack wave is on the way to our base but because that attack wave came from the bottom right I figured its time to see if he will intercept those attack wave or if he is just another bad player with bad micro management. And that red flag is confirmed because while the attack wave is destroying his base, he is still not responding.
I had to confront him about it given his micro is at a level of tunnel vision and he responded with “I saw the attack wave but I am testing you.” So yea, this prestiged tychus who did not deal with the 4th train wave and the enemy attack wave is making excuse as if he is testing me. Even if he is testing me, the question remains as to why he only respond AFTER the enemy attack wave killed his entire scvs and destroy his command centre, unless of course he didnt even realise it.
His name is Kiwichoi if anyone is interested.

If you get lvl 15 + masteries, your commander becomes so strong, enemies sometimes can bounce away from it.
So you fill comfortable with playing on Brutal at that point, even if you lack mechanical skills to do so. There are many strong players that can carry Brutal on their own.
When they reset prestige, or play with just slightly better player, what requires them to do some actual input into the game.
That’s my theory.
Ofcourse you’re to blame, you’re too weak to play Brutal with them.
After all, all other games they are being carried, so this one time they lose, something is particularly wrong with their teammate.
I don’t think you can change the mindset. It’s already a very limited person.
On oblivion express it is usually easy enough to kill the top train and then the bottom one right after as the bottom one comes slightly later to the center of the two tracks. As long as you have decent dps it isnt much of a problem, some of the issue comes from the defenses the AI is trying to set up on the tracks.
No objective or attackwave is solely meant for one player or the other and remember your allies base is your responsibility too, as evidenced by the fact that if it dies you also lose.

If there’s one thing that’s lucky for me in SC2, it’s that I don’t frequently come across ridiculous people like this. I personally do fine in brutal as long as my teammates exist (even when I’m leveling). Also, you shouldn’t put people’s usernames on the forums. I suggest you edit it out ASAP. You’re not supposed to single out people like that.

TL;DR, b/c ppl play Coop for “fun”. Even when people are pursuing objectives, this can still vary from one player to another. Examples include but not limited to:
–our stats screen should show nearly = # of kills
–We should have the same # of units in supply
–You should be killing your fair share, but don’t dare kill more than me!
–some COs have “go to builds”, and not doing them is a red flag (even though some COs do have alternatives).
For example, Alarak, you can skip Ascendants and do mass Slayer and Supplicants. Some people like to rockslap as Dehaka, and they’ll still win (to the annoyance of many of us)
–Some people just want to play
They’re not as worried as failing. This causes a rift between 2 players, but the bar to get into a Coop was practically nonexistent.

Probably should remove the player name from the original post. That naming user stuff gets posts taken down.
From your post he just sounds like a regular bad player though.
What a joke, i intend to comment “no i didn’t meet anyone” and then i met one yesterday who completely ignore the primary objective and just keep pouring his corsairs toward the da*n slayn elemental.
For me, this happens most frequently on Mist Opportunities. Usually it’s when the 3rd bot wave is moving out but yesterday it was on the 2nd. Was a Dehaka ally who went for all the spawned enemies for essence, so I took that as a good sign.
I cleared the right side after the 1st bot and decided to macro up as I noticed ally going towards the 2nd set of geysers. I didn’t notice what was happening - he went past the geysers and straight to the bonus area and completely ignored the attack waves even after the losing a bot. Also my fault for being out of position and too far to get back in time to save the other bot and we lost. At least it was quick. After the game, checked player’s profile: lvl 250+
On MO, I don’t get why ppl go for the bonus when the bots are moving out and they know there will be multiple attack waves right then. Why not wait until the bots are heading back? There’s usually just one wave at that point which ally can handle while they go free the glider, well before the next set of bots heads out.
Normally you have time before the bots reach their destination and assuming you already pre-cleared those parts (both spots for bots + up the ramp). Your ally was wrong not to clear these areas first.
On the other hand if you are confident your ally can handle the north side then the other spawns locations are directly up the ramp far West or directly under it so doing it right then allow you to spawn camp as well (useful for some commanders, terrible idea for others).
That being said trusting your ally is a bad move that in the long run end up costing games. Plenty of times that move allows you to full clear the map earlier even while under-leveled but a few times your ally just decides to go his merry way far East at the same time and then you are out of position to defend waves from North West.
This happens easily in MO unfortunately (to me too). You think you got this map mastered but then boom! a splash of cold water in your face, you lost … and then you start thinking, it is not even a mutation … ouch.
Normally I go for bonuses in between bots. The third wave have 4 spawns, ideally one player should cover each of the two spawns. If you can’t get bonus, get it before the last bot wave, you have time. But if you are playing Karax / Swann you could build cannons / turrets to spawn camp and your partner can go off to the sunset to clear all bases.
Not all the time. You can gauge your partner skills during the first 5 mins of the game and adjust your tactics accordingly. If you think your partner is not as good, you could play conservatively, if you think your partner know what is going, you could trust him.

I’m fine with them clearing the area before the bots reach the geysers, but that doesn’t stop the wave which attacks. And then running off to the bonus when the main attack waves are still to come is a bit dumb, even if they expected me to solo those early waves (which I could do, if I’d known that was their plan).
It was my fault for being way out of position, as I said in my post - but at least I tried getting to the bots when they were being attacked and realised my ally was nowhere there. They shoulda done the same, could’ve saved one of them and continued with the mission. And being a lvl 250+, they shoul’ve known there’s plenty of time to do the bonus. Attack waves provide essence too.
Agreed, when the attack waves for the current bot wave have finished and the bots are nearly back at the base at the end of their trip. But going for the bonus when the current wave has already left the base moving towards the geysers? I don’t get why experienced players would do that.

Had one of those individuals today. A P2 Nova on Oblivion Express. Apparently, needlessly clearing out the enemy base to the left is more important than trains and even attack waves coming for her base.
Bruh, both said commanders have mobility tools to push base and respond to attack waves easilly, this is tunnel vision indeed.
I get it with clearing bases if they’re Dehaka/Mengsk/Abathur, they scale with kills so it’s expected to be contantly trying to break bases, but for others it depends on how they use the mobility.
I know its hatd to comprehend, but coop is all dkill levels, and what that means when playing a pug is you may just “Have a baaaad TIME”. If you can still improve then get to the point where you can play as anything on a regular brutal useing double random. Random map, and random comander selection. Then you will be an asset to the comunity as a whole instead of another pompous player who expects too much out of most likely someone whom is inpaired by drugs alcohol, or mental deficeintcy’s
Yeah it was just dumb, as she didn’t even make advantage of her P2, and obviously just missed the point of Co-op.
A good example is an Alarak P3 ally I got later, also on Oblivion Express. While he also cleared out the map, he always warped back immediately for trains or waves.
