- Cybercore requirement to build a forge.
- Cannon’s cost reduced. The exact cost is up for debate.
These two changes address two things:
They get completely rid of the cannon rush and allow Protoss players to more easily survive the mid game, where multi-prong harass is a real pain to deal with when your army is immobile and not large enough to be split.

It would help PvP being less retarded and more of a skill matchup rather than a cheesefest.
However when it comes to design, it would render DTs / detection based cheese / harass early on very useless. This is a direct nerf to banshee / widow mines / DT / ghost etc. You’d have to make it be a robo thing or whatever in order to not impact this too much. Not to mention how every race (even zerg till HOTS) had to build evo chambers —> upgrade buildings for spores)

or, just allow cannons to be built near nexus. you can’t proxy with zerg, sure you have bunker rushes but that’s pretty antiquated.

i think a big thing that would help pvp would make it so that photon cannons built in “powered” powerfields (whatever they’re called when near nexus/gateway) get a substantial boost to attack range. this allows your cannons to ourtange your opponent’s, preventing him from pushing forward.

I always question myself why the Cannon builds faster than Spines. I know Spines build time is long because of ZvZ but the Cannon is being a issue for ALL matchups, we need them to be addressed to be at the very least the same build time as the Spine crawlers.

Banshee as far as I know is already pointless TvP harass because Shield Batteries just lol at their attempts to do damage.
Widow Mines are already avoidable if noticed and firing their payload reveals them until Drilling Claws upgrade, by the time the upgrade is in play Cannons are already available.
DTs, sure? probably? Early game though I imagine investing in cannons means you can’t invest in offense as much.
Ghosts, I can’t see a scenario where this matters. Do people still harass with Ghosts in a time Cannons or even Observers aren’t already available?
On another note, would be nice if Cannon Rush wasn’t a thing.

Meh. Just get rid of cannon rush altogether and be done with it.
If they wanted to adress cannon rush they already would have done so.
They like the cheese and like seeing people get mad at it. Then they wonder why people hate protoss cheese and the term “protossed”.
They did this on themselves. Good luck removing this stigma.

Banshee openers are not unheard of in TvP, even at pro level. Often people do double banshee before showing the tech so they can ignore the batteries.

I think we should just make the Forge require a Gateway. It wouldn’t impact Defensive Cannons too much, because you’d have a Gateway anyway.
It’d delay it for a bit but then it would also make it less easy to scout and cannon rushers would just send zealots with it anyway.

they should add a range upgrade and a fireing rate upgrade to make them more useful at the end of the game.
or, we can make sure bunker auto salvage once built too far from command center.
or maybe spine crawler/spore crawler explodes when it’s too far from a queen.
