LOl in sc2 you can select more than 12 units and there are no irradiates, whole game would have to be changed. Otherwise it would be imbalanced as hell. But ye shroud needs buff probably, it is useless vs carriers and vs bcs you still rather get neurals and corruptors. It is supposed to counter mass air, but mass carrier and storm beat it pretty easily.
Dark Swarm would be a “counter the whole Terran” spell in SC2, and is one of the few things from BW that I would never want to see ported over.
Protoss would at least have Zealots, Archons, Dark Templar, Storm, Oracle (it is spell damage) and Disruptor against it; but Terran would just auto-lose, as they do not even have Firebats and Spider Mines anymore.

So again here we have Ace guy and one of his stupid threads. This time: trying to add a most broken, unfun and most cancer spell of all time from the whole SC universe.
Dark swarm is literally the most idiotic spell in SC history and I feel that spell kinda ruined the game. Free units are very bad for the game but immortal units (behind dark swarm) are even worse.
Drk swarm is not that bad, so long as there are counter-units to it. As it Stands, SC2 Terran would have none.

Dark Swarm was the most broken spell in BW alongside with Plague. Zerg is already OP, don’t make them even broken.

And have it gain a 200 damage (+100 vs Buildings) attack as well, with 5000 HP, and 670 Energy, not forgetting a Rapid Regeneration passive, and 20 attack range…

Dark swarm(and plague) is only horrific because of consume, without that it would probably be ok.
Yeah it’s not like they have a unit that can deplete Infestor energy…
EMP would never go off before Dark Sward did, and Dark swarm on top of Terran army, with how fast and easy to control Zerglings are in SC2, would mean that Terran could never face Zerg in battle.
People would just go mass-tank as terran and blinding cloud is better for those. In ZvP everyone goes zealot-archon anyways so good luck lol
Irradiate has nothing to do with dark swarm. Irradiate is basically a counter to plague. They function as deterrents. Dark swarm is the response to Zerg not being able to attack into late game compositions. This was the attempt for both blinding cloud and microbial shroud, but both are failing at their roles. Just removing them and replacing them with dark swarm is the better concept, but it requires the design team lose their sense of pride and just accept that BW did some things better. Also, dark swarm didn’t protect from splash and “special attacks” (essentially spells), so it wouldn’t counter all of Terran.
