Made “assembly of vengeance” on pure easy mode with stetmann roach/ravagers and zeratul cannons, this is stupid tbh, i think that infestors need another nerf, because they also still cause some lag

I know that i am not the first one to do this muta and that there’s already a solo run about it, but still wanted to share this, it became from hell to super easy just because of stetmann infestors

A 30-45 second cooldown on the ability would probably work. (effectively 1 Infestor=2 mecha roach+1 mecha ravager on the field… with some recharge+building attack abilities if you keep it under the purple field)

Zeratul cannons also need a nerf though:
(weaker shields/more hp)… so projections are weaker
Projections require resources/supply
Projection dying before it expires causes hp damage to cannon

The problem with infestors is not only they hurt performance but also they are not exactly fun to play. Firstly, you have to spend the majority of your time staring at roach/ravagers spawning and rarely have time to watch your army because they are disposable anyway. Secondly, if you play with infestors, you are forced to keep the energy buff on 99% of the time. This just ruins a good mechanics of Stetmann which he can buff his ally with other fields. Finally, the lag is horrendous once you reach 25-30 infestors. It’s not a pleasant feeling for both you and your ally.

My proposal to fix these issues:

  • Infestor can spawn 1 roach/1 ravager at a time
  • Roach/ravager spawn cooldown time is tripled
  • Roach HP/Attack +250%, Ravager HP/Attack + 150%

This will address the issues by:

  • Drop roach count which helps with the performance
  • Since cooldown time for spawning new batch is increased, stetman can switch a different buff to aid ally when infestors are full energy.
  • Have more fun watching your army than just mindlessly spawning roach/ravagers in a safe zone.

Agree with both, looking away from your infestors effectively reduces your efficency at spamming and tbh is indeed not funny to be locked watching my infestors or spamming on the minimap randomly.

A fix could be 30 sec life time, 1 roach+1 ravager without need for a research and buffed stats (not too much), plus a good buff to structure infestation and the healing cable they can use.

Also agree on cannons spam strat, i find it super boring not only to use, but also to watch, i don’t even understand how people still find funny spamming cannon shades, i find even more boring of Stetlag™ Lagfestors, a solution could be that destroyed shades start a super long cooldown that leave affected cannons unable to teleport, plus an increase on base cooldown and a reduction of total shield barrier, they should not be your main strat, but a powerful support to your main army, maybe add 1 range to them to compensate, i mean, 8 range cannons sound pretty legit to me

Don’t nerf infestor.
Just limit number of Infestor to 12 (like brutalisk, leviathan, galleon).

Zeratul cannon spam is fine. He already has a limited army variation. If it does need a nerf I think the projection shield/hp nerf would be fair. But I think having an activation time is already a good tradeoff for it.

Stetmann roach spam is another subject though. The lag is unbearable. PC running in stop motion.

My suggestion: Mecha Roaches and ravergers cost supply (maybe less than 2 or 3 like versus counterparts).

12 is already enough to solo some mutas

dehaka psionic devour also didn’t get nerfed, it even got buffed as now there are more psionic units.
tychus medivac platforms also could receive a nerf by that logic. why should he be able to teleport anywhere he wants with basically no limit.
you take away infestors or cannons and those commanders are screwed. (compare zeratul the hero unit or gary for instance to dehaka the hero unit)

Tychus medivac should be nerfed (probably increase cooldown and/or increase cost)

Don’t take cannons/infestors away, weaken them.
(Glevig should have been weakened with Dehaka)

I don’t find funny or well designed spamming shades or roach/ravagers while ignoring 90% of your remaining tech and basically deleting any other build viable to said commander, just look at mutation videos and tell me how much people still use Zeratul army on them, f**king no one does; same stuff for Stetmann, the infestor build is so well performing that almost no one bother building any other unit or switch stetetellites modes.

The problem with these builds is that they are monopolizing both Zeratul and Stetmann, this is especially true for the latter, a ton of amazing unit comps and sinergies, all washed away by “lol let’s just spam free uniz for the lulz, epzp!”

They are basically flattening both commanders to the mindless “free stuff spam” meta and i hate it, what i think could work is nerf these build to the ground, by making them a support strat for late game, not an autowin move when you get enough cannons/infestors.

Btw comapring Zeratul/Gary to Dehaka is of an inconceivable stupidity, Dehaka is literally the core of his own game mechanics, you don’t play with an army, you play with Dehaka, his calldowns and then comes his army, a suport during big pushes, a way to help and speed up the hero’s leveling until level 10 and to deal with structures, objectives and defence.

On the other hand Zeratul is a silent hit and run hero with high mobility, not a hulking behemoth capable of oneshotting entire waves of his own, he also has great mobilty and the task to upgrade his own army/tech by himself;
Regarding Gary, it’s an amazing example of support/utility, Super Gary has amazing stats and dps, but it cannot deal with medium size armies or push by itself, but it can soften them up, buff his army with heal/shields - speed/dps - energy regen and finally teleport his whole army to another location, sounds pretty amazing to me.

But guess what? With monoinfestors, the only purpouse of Gary becomes to carry the early game by itself and a bunch of lings and then mindessly push with the river of free units or remain with infestors to keep buffing their energy regen.
But what about Zeratul? His only duty becomes… Carry until you get enough cannons… and then provide vision by randomly get himself killed so you can happily spam cannons, yeah, his glorious role in mid/late game is to randomly get himself killed, since you are way more efficent by spamming cannons instead of caring for your how heroic unit

Sounds more and more like a rant the more you read into it. Co ops is a casual setting mode, non competitive and unranked. As such its a mode where people can choose how to play openly and freely, there are no metas and no expectations for the most part. Majority of sc2 players wouldn’t be caught dead on forums or vids or so on so the only complaints usually come from the low % or people whom would rather complain about random match ups as opposed to being in groups they like or play with people they prefer. If they’re lonely and want a good game with a like minded player they can always just CTRL+ALT+DEL at loading screens or jetpack out of a match the second they do not like how some1 else is playing. You’re giving them minerals and your base, it is literally a win win scenario.

But a no brainer win-all strategy is degenerating, if ally stetmann massed infestors you can do nothing and the game will be won, that is a problem.

I think it is always a big flaw in coop that free hp can be massed with no upkeep cost, that’s why mass omega/projections/infestors/bunkers were so degenerating gameplay, as you can stall the enemy indefinitely until they are destroyed with no additional cost over the infrastructure that you have little to no risk losing the resources invested on it. If something is generating free HP, it is generating resources so they become exponentially powerful as you amass them. I think this mechanic cannot truly be balanced unless you limit the maximum number of these units that may be built.

Agreed, just look at Stukov now, Bunker got nerfed and mech got buffed, now you can do way more of mono bunkers, the new queens and diamondbacks are awesome to use and way more fun of f5 click infesteds to a location until you win.
