Optimal StarCraft 2 system requirements (16 player)

Question… If I wanted to play a custom 16 player map AND run StarCraft 2 with all the graphics completely maxed out, what kind specs are we looking at, if I also wanted it to run without any FPS issues?

NOTE: I’m ignoring latency/ping/packet loss issues that are network related, just processing ability in a hypocritical zero latency and zero packet loss. Yes I know, in the real world that’s impossible (unless it’s all AIs you’re playing).

So if I want to spring for an Uber PC or Laptop, what am I looking for?

Thanks!

I’m not sure that the game engine uses resources optimally enough for that to be possible no matter what your specs are. One of the consequences of it being designed to run on a wide range of systems is that it uses powerful, modern systems extremely inefficiently. 16 players with actual armies is simply so many the game engine itself will start to die.

Interesting…

Well how about this then; what are the most optimal PC/Laptop hardware specs to return of stable SPF at maximum graphical settings that the game engine of StarCraft 2 is capable of?

The SC2 engine was made more than 10 years ago and poorly optimized. Whatever how many cores your CPU have, I remember it uses only one core. Even it is a modern multi-cores CPU, I don’t believe it may perform comfortable experience for such 16 players map with maxed graphic setting. However, a higher clock speed may help at some degree.
